White swimsuit? Yey or nay?

So I ordered this swimsuit. I really like it. DH said it looks nice but was a bit "look at me". Don't think he meant it in a bad way to be fair just that he was aware I'm not the type to particularly want lots of attention. What do you think? I'm 45 , slim(ish) average height. Olive skin and grey hair. Thanks

I thought white went transparent when wet.

No it's a sort of waffle fabric so it's thick. Pretty sure it won't.

I bet it looks fab on olive skin and will really bring out your hair colour.

@MeAndZee it was the colour that made him think it. I ordered it in red as well. He said both looked nice but I'd probably be more comfortable in the red because the white was a bit "look at me". I think because you don't see many white swimsuits (probably because most of the time they'd go see-through) I might keep both!

I'm always scared to wear white. I don't know why, i rarely get my clothes dirty. But i think that's a very nice swimming costume. In bright sun it might be a little hard to look at? But it will be stunning.

Lovely costume and I also don't understand your husbands comment - it's just a swimming costume, it's not revealing or showy at all. How does he cope seeing women in bikinis?
Anyway, white is lovely and compliments almost everyone so go for it.

Wear it! I have an irrational fear I will get my period whenever I wear white, but I wish I had the balls to!

I really like it, just be careful with suncream, some can stain white clothes yellow.

@EllaPaella no it's not because it's showy. It's the colour. I DO wear bikinis as well. Ok so I'll ignore his comment then. Thanks everyone I think I will keep both colours. Good point about the suncream though. Will be try and remember that

It's lovely. Yes, it's white and I think it takes a certain amount of self confidence to wear a white swimsuit- but the cut is fairly modest compared to a lot of other beach wear, and that stops it being Look At Me! I think it'll look gorgeous with olive skin.

It is lovely for a swimming pool but in the sea they absorb sand and start looking greyish/dirty. From my own experience unfortunately 😕

It is a bit look at me love islandy-lite.

They also look awful by the end of a two week holiday with the sand.

But if you feel amazing in it and aren't wanting it to last you years and years then go for it! If you've got it flaunt it!
