Please find me shoes for my terrible feet!

I have wide feet with bunions and I live in trainers or Doc Martin boots. I also have some Birkenstock style sandals for when it's really hot (because all of these accommodate by minging feet).

I need some flat and comfy nice shoes to wear with dresses for 2 barmitzvas I am going to this summer. I will probably be wearing a black dress- possibly a red one but not decided yet.

I have some lovely shoes with block heels but they kill my feet after about 10 mins of dancing.

I like the attached style but I have tried on several pairs like this and even the wide ones don't fit my clodhoppers!

Can anyone help please.

https://solebliss.com/ has special bunion shoes in various styles including flats and heels. Apparently they’re loved by celebs and have been worn to award ceremonies by people like Julia Roberts etc.

Sole Bliss are absolutely amazing. I have wide feet and arthritis in my big toe joint and I can still wear Remy comfortably.
I also have some lovely Sargasso and Grey shoes which are pretty, wide in the toebox and flat

I have just bought these in the wide fit. I hace nightmare feet m, but walked about 10 miles in themon one one day last week with no problems at all. Plus, they are washable. https://www.vivaia.com/item/square-toe-v-cut-flats-p_10003645.html?gid=10003174

I was interested in these. Do they cope ok with rain?

Thanks- I have looked at them before- should've said I don't want to spend too much as won't wear them often.

Maybe I will have to spend the cash and buy from Sole Bliss...

Look at Padders for every day.
For bunions you are going to need to spend a bit more even if you won't wear them frequently as they'll last you for ever.

Fozzleyplum · 19/06/2023 21:51

The Vivaia shoes aren't watertight, as they are knitted from some sort of recycled material, but they are washable, so getting them wet isn't an issue. I have very difficult feet, and they are incredibly comfortable.

All the kids seem to be wearing white trainers to barmitzvahs now. I think they can look pretty nice with dresses?

meganorks · 19/06/2023 22:28

I have very wide feet and have these in a higher version in normal fit. The straps are very soft suede and feel lovely. These lower ones come in a wide fit so maybe they could work?

Or I think these could potentially look dressy:

How about these? I have the same problem & buy most of my shoes from here.

Have a look at this website. It is American but many of the shoes can be found here. I think it is a blog so it gets updated all the time. They list shoes by condition and style.

New look do a pair almost exactly like your pic. I was going to suggest them even before I’d seen your pic as the material is so soft and the shape covers up enough but has a gap in the right place so are comfortable for bunions. They’re shiny so can be used for dress up or down, I love them

BuffyTheCat · 20/06/2023 01:01

I’ve heard good things about bunions and Vivaia. I don’t have bunions (I have different foot issues), so I can’t vouch for them myself, but they might be worth a browse in case they have something you like - or, at least, something reasonably comfortable.

SecretKeeper1 · 20/06/2023 01:07

New Look do an “extra wide” fitting. Can’t go too wrong for £25.

I'm no help regarding shoes cause I seem to live in runners or fitflops now but have you considered surgery on the bunions? I inherited my mothers monster feet and have had surgery on both feet (same time for both), recovery took about eight weeks in total but in reality I was completely mobile after six. I did have to have it repeated on one foot but that's rare and really down to me having arthritis in it, its pinned now and should be fine for ever. I'm so glad I had them done, the pain they caused was awful, now I've no pain at all and they look so much better, not perfect by any means but a lot better.

I have clodhoppers and am contemplating these, although I have nothing to wear them too! They look comfy and the right amount of cover while being cool. But I have not tried them, so cannot vouch for comfort.

These are lovely but I don't think I could walk or dance with the heel.

Yes- I usually end up changing into my trainers (down with the kids 😅) but was trying to be a grown up this time!

Sadly, wouldn't cover my bunions and make my cankles look worse
