Looking for white, flat fronted, non see-through wide leg trousers

As above. I’m drawing a blank. It would seem an easy task, wouldn’t it? But no.

Flat-fronted is essential. I really don’t like those this season ubiquitous pleated trousers. They just add bulk to my bottom and I don’t like it.

White or close to white will do.
Size 10-12

Fabric- not linen. I’d love cotton but really I’m open to anything at this stage.

Budget - flexible but I’d prefer not over £100.

I tried linen ones from M&S and they are lovely on. For about 5 minutes. Then I’m an embarrassment of a mess, not remotely in a relaxed glamour type of swanning about in my crushed linen wealth, just a complete these have been on my chairdrobe for days and I’m a rather frazzled middle aged mess.

Can anyone help me?

M&S do some nice ones.

I did order the Reiss ones and sent them back! They were too short on me (I'm 173cm which is just over 5'8 I think).

Just bought a nice pair from Joseph comes in two different fabrics

Missmoon I'm hopeless.. no idea how to link. They come in off white, ice blue and white in all Joseph stores, Selfridges and Harrods. They are actually 99% wool but are the lightest feel summer trousers I've ever had.

I dealt with the gathered waist on M&S linen-rich trousers by getting a smaller size! They're a linen-viscose mix, so still breathable but much less crunchy than pure linen.

The Reiss ones have a perfect cut. The leg flares out from the lower hip, rather than hanging straight down. Gives fluidity and the illusion of height - it's a 1970s style, and I don't know why so few 2020s designers have failed to achieve it!

Arket have a few that might work. Or try &OtherStories or Cos.

@SybilWrites thats disappointing! I am approx 5’5” and short of leg so I still will order. I think. Still playing sales chicken.

OP, I bought https://www.johnlewis.com/reiss-demi-garment-dyed-linen-trousers-white/p110446628 and https://www.johnlewis.com/brora-herringbone-weave-linen-trousers-stone/p110167713 (they're not white)

I'm going to keep the Brora ones as they fitted better and I liked the colour. The Reiss ones are nice (very see through) and a baggier style.

Never spent so much on trousers before. They are both machine washable.

They're on the Next website @Elevenutionary I think (I haven't checked for which sizes are available). I'm on the look out for the same in black. I just sent back some from Aligne as they had too many pleats in the front.

Mint velvet has some styles that might suit. But I think they are like 120 -140 is that too much over budget?

Thanks Sybil! They are available on Next. Now I’m wondering about them - @25sheets are they v see through? I like your Brora ones - yes they’re more than I’d like to spend but I am going to consider them.

I often like their look but I've only bought casual footwear so far.

I’m definitely not super-small - a 14 verging on 16 - so I was pleasantly surprised to find that their Japanese XL size did actually fit me fine! I could actually have bought a L but the next size up was just that bit more comfortable (and I’m fairly long-legged; they were fine for length too).

@DisforDarkChocolate should add, that was for the trousers I mentioned. Their T-shirts, I normally go for a medium and that’s fine. Sizing is roomy on their big comfortable dresses, I’d say.

But they must do different sizing for the US and European market. I've been to the massive mothership store in Tokyo (which is the size of an IKEA - it’s amazing) and the clothes there are predictably tiny.

Cotton Traders? I got some cream (very pale) from them recently. Size 10 but comes up a bit large on the waist.
