Looking for white, flat fronted, non see-through wide leg trousers

As above. I’m drawing a blank. It would seem an easy task, wouldn’t it? But no.

Flat-fronted is essential. I really don’t like those this season ubiquitous pleated trousers. They just add bulk to my bottom and I don’t like it.

White or close to white will do.
Size 10-12

Fabric- not linen. I’d love cotton but really I’m open to anything at this stage.

Budget - flexible but I’d prefer not over £100.

I tried linen ones from M&S and they are lovely on. For about 5 minutes. Then I’m an embarrassment of a mess, not remotely in a relaxed glamour type of swanning about in my crushed linen wealth, just a complete these have been on my chairdrobe for days and I’m a rather frazzled middle aged mess.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you. Saw that about Reiss. I might order - from past experience Reiss trousers don’t fit me well. But maybe the wide leg might be different.

i love a white trouser - it's my inner Liz Hurley coming out! i have two fabulous pairs that get an airing every summer.

I bought some from H&M recently. Not white, but a pale beige (easier to wear, I think). They were viscose/linen mix but surprisingly un-creasy and very good value. I just looked on the website and can't see them.....but that's H&M for you.

I just bought these in long (despite only being 5 foot almost 4 inches) so I could get the look I wanted. They are very flattering over my rotund middle 😆 and my first ever pair of white trousers, as I normally live in black. Hence the user name 😁

They are not see through in the least, have great pockets and don't seem to crease.

I bought some very good-quality cotton wide-leg pants from Muji recently and I think they had them in white. They definitely do white wide-leg jeans too.

I'd link to them but their website seems a bit glitchy at the moment - have a search later though OP. I often recommend Muji as people tend not to think of their clothes, which are really well-made. They’ve got a sale on just now iirc.

Don’t know whether this will open but these are the chinos - 'ivory' rather than white.

@CointreauVersial I have a black pair of wide leg linen-ish trousers from H&M last year. Loved and still have them. I tried the white but they were frighteningly see through. I agree, off white/beige etc are easier to wear. I’m drawing a blank there too. I will look again at H&M.

@MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru the M&S link is good and I know they fit me well but the elastic tie waist is not what I want. Having said that, DD bought a pair of linen viscose mix from Stradivarius and they’re really good! Quite opaque. Not as smart as I want but v good.

@Grawlix I do forget about Muji. I’m not sure they’re for me. There is a shop I could visit so I’ll do that. I know I’m fussy!

I have wide leg white denims and they are fantastic for summer. So many options with them. I was hoping to have a similar smarter option.

I was also going to suggest the Reiss linen (sorry) trousers. Have seen them on insta and am hankering after them. (like you I only want flat fronted trousers).

The only thing is they have elastic at the back and I’m not a fan of that on me. But definitely worth a punt. I’m shopping tomorrow evening so I’ll try them then. Thank you!

I missed the linen Reiss ones SybilW. I LOVE them. Even nicer in the ice blue. <easily distracted> But….linen. Tho they are lined with cotton. I wonder would that help the creasing and baggy-ness at all?? I would love if it helped. Love those trousers.

@Elevenutionary I've just come across this thread while looking for similar styled trousers. Did you get the Reiss ones? I like them but it doesn't appear to say what the care (washing instructions) is. I don't want anything that has to be dry cleaned. Let me know if you have the answer....thanks

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow no I haven’t ordered! Yet…. I’m watching them and playing chicken with the summer sales. They haven’t gone into sale yet and I see the bigger sizes are sold out so I may have to bite the bullet and pay full price. I will post if/when I get them. Haven’t stopped thinking about them…..
