To add what I'm considering is not flows, silky or wedding-dress-like in any way. I just know at one time this was a big no-no. A friend is also wearing ivory !

Is it plain or patterned? If plain, it's a no, if patterned it might be ok depending on the pattern

CeeceeBloomingdale · 03/06/2023 19:02

If it's heavily patterned it might be OK but otherwise no

PastTheGin · 03/06/2023 19:02

Ivory really is white, isn’t it? Not a great idea.

BrioLover · 03/06/2023 19:03

Best be cautious, so don't do it.

cavebaby · 03/06/2023 19:03

Have you got a photo of the dress? If it's predominantly ivory though then I wouldn't say it was appropriate.

wistfullyfocused · 03/06/2023 19:03

No it’s not OK

BranchGold · 03/06/2023 19:04

Its so subjective these days, pop a picture up and we can advise.

newtb · 03/06/2023 19:06

My late mil did!😀

Namechangeed · 03/06/2023 19:06

Add a picture of the dress or similar one for context.

Initial answer - absolutely not.

WateryDoom · 03/06/2023 19:06

No. Many brides wear ivory or cream.

It's just not done for a guest to do so.

Irritateandunreasonable · 03/06/2023 19:06

Absolutely not.

EggInANest · 03/06/2023 19:07

Nope
Not OK.

HoisttheMainSail · 03/06/2023 19:07

No.

you’ll look like a dick.

GoodChat · 03/06/2023 19:08

If you have to ask the question you probably shouldn't be wearing it.

RosesAndHellebores · 03/06/2023 19:08

No is a complete sentence.

Frogmila · 03/06/2023 19:08

Not unless it's mostly pattern tbh

keyboardkat · 03/06/2023 19:09

A black bin bag would be preferable.

A black bin bag would be preferable.

Indeed 😂

Discoverysnakes · 03/06/2023 19:11

I guess it depends on the bride and how well you know her?

I couldn’t have cared less if anyone wore ivory or white at my wedding but I’m guessing from the responses here and previous threads some people would.

Careeradviceplease1234 · 03/06/2023 19:12

No not ok.

ontheplayground · 03/06/2023 19:17

I seriously wouldn't. There must be something else you can wear?

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/06/2023 19:18

I mean ... maybe? Let's see the dress.

jannier · 03/06/2023 19:23

Do you like the bride? Are you planning to shout it should have been me?
