Aldi Lacura Rose Oil

I love this product, and judging by the online reviews so did lots of other people! It makes my elderly, fading skin glow, and keeps it moist, and unlike many skincare items, it’s affordable.

Aldi don’t sell it any more! Why produce something so good, then just stop. I wondered if anyone else here has used it and will miss it, or can suggest an alternative?

I love it too and just managed to find a bottle about 3 weeks ago after not seeing it for ages. It's a dupe of a Pixi product so maybe you could try that and see if it's as good?

The price difference is huge! One of the reasons I love the Aldi product. I also like their hotel range hand and body wash, especially No 1. There’s been none of that locally, although the lotion, candles and sanitiser are in my local branch. DDIL has looked in hers, none there either.

They drive me barmy with this.

I have about 5 bottles in my bathroom cupboard. They also dont do the miracle cream anymore, why?

Ohfgsjon · 21/05/2023 20:48

It's fab. I'll use my bottle more sparingly now I know it's been discontinued 🙄

I really wish I’d stocked up!

I love this too, and am trying to eke out the bottle that I have. If I splash glycerin and rosewater on my face, then massage in a few drops of the oil, my skin looks amazing.

Doodledeedum · 21/05/2023 23:02

Try Amazon for them. Not as cheap but still able to purchase

oranga · 21/05/2023 23:07

I stocked up on this product as Aldi tend to sell at odd times of year and I remember of being fantastic the last time I used it. Don't panic as it may well come on sale again or check their website which might have it in stock? I'm still mourning the loss of the glam glow clay mask dupe which was incredible!

SmallGeezer · 21/05/2023 23:09

The ordinary rose oil is incredible and affordable- maybe try that one. Imo way better than the Aldi one!

Seymour5 · 22/05/2023 08:43

I’ve contacted Aldi to ask if it will be on sale again. I’ll post the response.

@Doodledeedum I might have to resort to buying from Amazon, but its 3 times the price! As someone on a pretty low income the price is a factor.

Its a painful lesson I learned far too late with the likes of Aldi and Lidl, they've turned the house into Del boys flat.

Whats that?

bryceQ · 22/05/2023 09:48

Have you tried The Ordinary one? Think that's pretty cheap. I prefer the squalene oil but both good

EllaPaella · 22/05/2023 09:50

Is that The Ordinary Rosehip face oil? If so it's very different to the Aldi rose oil, it's much thicker and denser and not really the same thing. Also smells a bit odd. If there is a different one by The Ordinary then if anyone has a link that'd be grand as Iove the Aldi one and will definitely be looking for an alternative.

tatteddear · 22/05/2023 10:27

Try Holland and Barrett.

Who sells the aldi products on Amazon ? Is it Aldi or people who have bought in bulk and then selling, like on eBay ? I’d worry it’s not genuine .

What does glycerin and rose water do ? I saw a bottle in Boots. Recently and was curious. Thanks.

There’s some on Vinted

Fozzleyplum · 22/05/2023 19:26

MoiraRoseForever, it's a humectant. It attracts moisture from the atmosphere and plumps your skin up. Then the rose oil seems to seal it in.

Craftycorvid · 22/05/2023 20:28

Ooh Aldi are buggers for discontinuing things!

How do you use it ? Do you leave it on the face , nighttime ? Thanks

Fozzleyplum · 22/05/2023 21:57

I use homemade cleansing oil (sweet almond oil, polysorbate 80 to make it rinse off, and lavender/ rose geranium essential oils), then put some rosewater and glycerin in my hands and rub that over my face, followed by 6 drops of the oil, and massage it in.

JerkintheMerkin · 22/05/2023 22:18

Aldi drive me mad with their policy of here today gone forever beauty products. They are missing a trick. They need to have a dedicated consistent area for the Lacura range as it is actually really good for the price. I have the lip oil that I found randomly one day but never seen it since. It's absolutely amazing as well.
