I'm 45 - wear make up every day but I'm a bit shit at it. I definitely want to start using a better moisturiser.

Just has my eyebrows microbladed so don't need to draw them on anymore!!

At home:
-Cerave face wash
-Cerave moisturiser

In the car:
-No7 primer (need a new one if there's a better suggestion)
-Dior foundation (new to this- it's a bit posh. Recently bought a make up sponge so dab it on with a brush then bash it with the sponge blender)
-No7 bronzer
-No7 blusher
-No7 mascara
-Clinique black honey lippy

I never bother reapplying at work. I always look the same - work / out for drinks 🙈

What's your routine?

If I was you I would add:

Skin care:

after face wash:

Hyaluronic acid serum
Vitamin C serum

After moisturiser:

SPF 50

For make up, it seems like you like a natural look and CBF reapplying. I use Black Honey, I find it nice but it does wear off. I use Maybeline Colour Stay in Lead the Way under it. It lasts a long time, it's a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's pillow talk, but I actually like it better because it lasts longer and I find it less drying. So still a natural looking shade but it will last longer as a combo under the Black Honey.

St Ives exfoliator
Simple face wipe
Dermablend foundation
Dermablend setting powder
If I’m worked from home then Dermablend face powder instead of liquid foundation.
Eyeshadow
Soap and glory pencil eyeliner-waterline
Soap and glory liquid liner- lid
Maybelline sky high mascara
Max FactorReal Brow pencil

tinytemper66 · 02/05/2023 00:36

I only use oil of Olay on my skin and then add some mascara and lipstick. I always look the same. I am 57 and never learnt to put makeup on.

IconicKitty · 02/05/2023 07:45

I wouldn't do my make up in the car, I think that's a recipe for disaster!

I use Miscellar water every morning, and then SPF. Then moisturiser.

If I'm wearing foundation I will put primer on.

I do my eyebrows, mascara, lip balm and a bit of blush everyday.

If I'm going to the office I will also do eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick.

Why? 🤔

Iamblossom · 02/05/2023 08:49

Having spent the last 18 years doing my makeup in a badly lit poorly positioned mirror on my bathroom cabinet, one of the best things about my new bedroom is I get to sit at a dressing table using one of these mirrors

Yes it's like what a 13 year old would have but I don't care.

Having said that I feel very amateurish with my make up compared to PPs!

Moisturiser after showering, has spf in it, only a Cien one from Lidl
Concealer under eyes
Powder for shine
Bronzer and blush blended in
Paint brows on
this mascara, the best i have ever used

I do use an expensive elemis cleansing balm in the evening though, smells of roses, divine

trickyfriendsone · 02/05/2023 09:09

Skincare (depends if used tretinoin I add in an extra hyaluronic acid )
Lactic acid
Snail mucin
Cerave or cetaphil moisturisers

Make up
Elf primer
Illamasqua foundation
Nars concealer
Face frosting bronzer
Elf contour
Laura mercier powder
Mac bronzer
Highlighter (whatever one takes my fancy)
Blush (whatever takes my fancy)
Brown power
NYX brow glue
Benefit they're real mascara

Riverlee · 02/05/2023 09:16

My daily make-up routine.

Foam cleanser - Avon, Simple , Nivea (vary what I use)
Moisturiser - L’Oréal, nivea what ever was on offer (usual Half price costing around £6 when reduced)

Avon eyeshadow,
glimmer stick eyeliner
maybelline 24 hr lipstick

i guess I fall in the low maintenance category!

Doggymummar · 02/05/2023 09:21

Wow I am really slack. Splash if cold water teeth brushed out the door. I feel I look better without make up, aged 53 and have never really bothered. I am in zoom moist of the day and the filters are great.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 02/05/2023 12:51

Didn't do anything when I got up except splash my face with water. Went to the gym.

Showered and washed my face (my face just with plain water).

Forgot my vitamin c serum, so that was that.

Moisturising LRP sunscreen, spf 50

Eyes: Isadora Concealer, some allergy friendly primer, allergy frindly eyeshadow (just a little matte brown and a little light eyeshadow), maybelline brown eyeliner (creamy, just on the upper lashline, more of a tightline), maybelline mascare, clear eyebrow gel from the drugstore.

Dab on concealer wherever else I need it. I didn't have time for foundation (would have been by isadora).

Maybelline pink for me lipstick

My everyday routine is very boring.
But it works for me and I can slap this on and look ready in a very short amount of time...

Usernamen · 02/05/2023 13:25

Are people listing their going out make up or their day-to-day make up?!

Foundation, eyeshadow, highlighter… every day??

I must look like shit without realising lol, with my eyebrow pencil and tinted lip balm, if that 😬

Riverlee · 02/05/2023 13:27

Mines my everyday make-up. For going out, I may slap on some foundation, although not always.

Zipps · 02/05/2023 13:52

Cleanse
Vit c
Moisturiser
Spf 50

Make up
ELF putty primer
Jane Iredale dream tint
No 7 taupe eyeshadow
Mua float eyeshadow
Blusher in a dark cool pink
Revolution big lash mascara
Barry M eyebrow pencil and nail varnish
Burt's bees lip balm

DietCokeUser · 02/05/2023 13:55

Cerave hydrating cleanser
Vit C serum
SPF

Chanel concealer
Translucent powder- at the moment I have a Clinique one
Chantecaille blusher
Dark brown pencil liner, smudged
Boy Brow
Lancome mascara
Either lip balm or black honey

Workawayxx · 02/05/2023 14:36

My morning skincare is:
Superfacialist vit C cleansing oil, wipe off with wet flannel
Hado Labo gold serum (hyaluronic acid)
Cerave moisturiser
Beauty of Joseon Rice Probiotics Sunscreen Spf 50+

Everyday makeup:
Sometimes use some primer, I just use cheap ones as haven't noticed any difference between cheap and expensive!
Il Makiage foundation (or sometimes revlon colourstay dry skin) - v small amount blended with brush
Il Makiage concealer, just a tiny bit under eyes and any spots
No 7 cream blusher
Revlon cream eyeshadow stick in neutral beige colour
Maybelline mascara

You could add a serum between cleansing and moisturising. Maybe vitamin C (I'd like to use a vit C serum but waiting for my skin to be more used to tretinoin before adding too much active stuff!). Or the Hado Labo gold is good, not too expensive and very moisturising. An SPF50 is also a good idea for skin.

In terms of make up, you could also add a neutral eyeshadow, I find this is helpful just to cover up any eyelid redness/imperfections. I like to watch facebook reels or youtube shorts to get little makeup application tips, which I've actually found more useful than buying/using more products.

LadyLapsang · 02/05/2023 19:40

Not particularly loyal to brands, but this morning -
Dr Barbara Sturm cleanser
Sarah Chapman Skinesis Intense Hydration Booster
Oto CBD eye cream
Votary Super Seed Nutrient Cream (I prefer Sunday Riley CEO but have run out and need to use the jar of Votary)
Dr Dennis Gross SPF
Armani Luminous Silk foundation
Anastasia mascara
By Terry lip balm
I ran out of time for blusher, eyes etc.

BangingOn · 02/05/2023 21:00

My morning skincare:

Hado Labo toner
Centellica Asiatica ampoule
Rose oil
La Roche Posay SPF50
Smoom apricot face floss

My makeup:

Base:
Glossier Futuredew
Eborian CC green colour corrector
Urban Decay Potion with Huda Baking Powder under eyes
Holika Holika Aqua Jelly

Eyes:
Glossier boy brow
Glossier Lidstar
Victoria Beckham Kajal liner
Benefit Bad Gal Bang mascara on curled lashes

Cheeks:
Glossier Cloud Paint

Lips:
Glossier Balm Dot Com

The whole routine takes under 10 minutes.

Mummyofbananas · 02/05/2023 21:43

Just now I'm normally pixie glow tonic- every few days or it's too hard.
Clinique moisture surge for day (heavier moisturiser at night)
Erborian BB cream - sometimes i mix in a bit of clinique even better glow or doublewear for coverage but I like my foundation light.
Hula bronzer
Any blusher.
Any liquid pen eyeliner
Benefit roller girl mascara
Mac lipstick, mehr normally or brick o'la for going somewhere smarter

SequinDiscoBiscuits · 02/05/2023 21:45

I do a 10 min red light mask followed by either
The Ordinary cleanser or Gatineau Radiance Enhancing Gommage. (Irrationally detest that word!)
The Ordinary glycolic acid/hyaluronic acid/Buffet+ copper/moisturiser
Emma Hardie face oil

Make-up can be minimal or heavier depending on whether I can be bothered- only use primer if a night out as I hate how it feels and it breaks me out sometimes.

By day use either a cheap £ shop BB cream or No.7 radiance foundation, Armani foundation for long days without touch ups.

Hoola bronzer as contour and used as eye shadow in crease (or any one of around 20 other eye shadows in varying shades of brown/pink/peach depending on my outfit colour & if I can be bothered)

Highlighter eyeshadow on brow bone, cheek bones, inner eye and cupids bow.

Sometimes Nars blusher, a No.7 cream blush or dots of that days lippy blended into cheeks.

Outline brows with Maybelline pencil, fill with Rimmel pencil and finish with Maybelline fibre gel

Dark brown eyeliner pencil on top lid outer 1/2, much lighter brown under eye (actually use my lip liner for this)

Rimmel endless lash (nothing else comes close, even high-end mascaras don't do what this does for me)

Rimmel lip liner, Mac or Nars lippy in whatever shade of pink, nude or pinky brown I feel like wearing that day!

rebekahnorris · 02/05/2023 22:02

Does anybody set foundation with powder? I use Mac factor powder foundation to dab on top of my foundation. Then bronzer then setting spray

I use nyx photo finish once I've put everything on. It kind of sets everything.

PerryMenno · 03/05/2023 07:19

51, combination skin. I don't like the look or feel of foundation anymore (and don't really need it, quite healthy and glowy looking thanks to tret.

-Vitamin C serum and SPF50 moisturiser to prep.
-Bit of Complexion Rescue spread around the nose/cheeks where I have some redness
-Under eye concealer (a L'Oreal dupe of Touche Eclat)
-Bit of translucent powder around my nose
-Swipe of powder blush and/or bronze if I look like I need it and a touch of the same colour as eyeshadow
-If no eyeshadow, bronze eyeliner (upper outer lid and little wings)
-1 coat mascara
-Fill eyebrows with pencil if I can be bothered and brush with clear gel
-Lip balm then neutral lipstick

It sounds like a lot but it's pretty slapdash - everything's very subtle and close to my own colouring, I blend with my fingers and often skip one or more steps, so it takes me about 2 minutes.

Ladyofthelake53 · 03/05/2023 07:37

Morning i either cleanse with baby lotion or just wet face in shower

Apply vit c serum
Hyluronic acid sometimes then moisturiser

No7 hydraluminous foundation
Contour and blusher
Mascara and eyeliner on top and bottom lash line
Apply Burts bees Dahlia lip salve which apparently is a dupe for Clinique Black Honey

Ladyofthelake53 · 03/05/2023 07:39

Takes 10 minutes, not sure how people manage time with all the products listed on some here

Please can you confirm
If the mascara is the one in the yellow tube please
