Are Lululemon leggings really worth it?

I am happy to pay £90 for leggings if they are going to last me 5 years - but will they really last that long, beating in mind I’ll need to wash them once a week?

I was sorely disappointed with SB leggings a few years ago so have stuck to H&M/Fabletics 😬

Not IME. But I think I got the sizing a bit wrong and they didn't feel right

Timeforachangeisitnot · 29/04/2023 13:32

I think they are much the same as SB, but SB’s sizing is more consistent. M&S are pretty decent, if you stick to the plain ones, or choose the pattern carefully, and I have several Under Armour that have lasted well.

Bam leggings are my go to - not cheap but a lot less than £90, last brilliantly and super comfortable. Also more sustainable that SB/Lululemon and there is 25% off this weekend…Bam

Lucy Locket Loves are great.

DollyTrolly · 29/04/2023 14:04

The best leggings I have are Sainsbury's seam free. Literally the most comfortable leggings I've worn, they stay put and wash well. They cost £14.

Glamisastateofmind · 29/04/2023 14:05

I love mine! They feel amazing and they wash well (but granted I have only had them a few months).

MidnightMeltdown · 29/04/2023 14:07

No. I have Lululemon and SB, and SB are better IMO.

mynameiscalypso · 29/04/2023 14:25

I think SB are better too. M&S aren't a bad cheaper option though.

EllaPaella · 29/04/2023 14:26

I have a pair and they just constantly ride down over my waist. Waste of money imo.

EllaPaella · 29/04/2023 14:27

Sainsbury's TU and Adidas are the best ones IMO.

safetyzone · 29/04/2023 14:48

I prefer lulus to Sb. Fit me better and fabric feels nicer and last longer in my experience. On MN however I'm in the minority.

Premiumum · 29/04/2023 15:07

Lulu are great. Mine have lasted me just over 5 years (I have a pair that have lasted 10 years and still going). I like SB tops

Bookishandblondish · 29/04/2023 16:01

The trouble is I have Lulu from 5/6 years ago and would say yes on those ones.

But now I’m less sure companies are making stuff to the same quality.

l bought SB last year and i hasn’t worn as well as the stuff I had 8 or so years ago - still wearable but not sure I’ll get the same wear out of them. Lulu seems to have stopped making the ones I bought - and no longer have easy access to a shop to try on.

I do wear my stuff to death - gym/ hiking/ yoga - was really impressed with both companies but now am a bit more wary ( or maybe I have unrealistic expectations)

Topee · 29/04/2023 16:03

I prefer SB power leggings. However, my best powers are ones that I bought about 4 years ago, I do think the quality has diminished at SB.

numptynoodle · 29/04/2023 16:03

The old sweaty Betty power were incredible. I still have some going strong. The new ones aren't as good but are better than my Lulu ones.

Gymmum82 · 29/04/2023 16:04

No they are not

@Topee haha great minds... Wish they'd make them like that now

dramalynn · 29/04/2023 16:05

I prefer SB, but have a pair of Lulu and they're good quality and worth the money.

Cherryana · 29/04/2023 16:05

I have lulu, I have SB, I have 2XU and the best ones I own are from Tesco. The most supportive, stretch is just right, great pattern.

SaturdayGiraffe · 29/04/2023 16:05

Had mine 8 years and they’re still going. The sizing is important for me, I need to not jiggle at all. And pockets both sides.

mynameiscalypso · 29/04/2023 17:10

I agree about the quality issues - my more recent SB have gone really bobbly really quickly. I do wear them quite a lot but I've been surprised at how quickly they've gone a bit crap.

ShinyShinyShinyBootsOfLeather · 29/04/2023 17:10

Yes, I think mine were a size or two too big. Sizing is quite confusing as it's US

StormyDaniels · 29/04/2023 17:12

Mine have bobbled after 7/8 months. I have worn them a lot though.

Christmascracker0 · 29/04/2023 18:09

Thanks all. I wanted some new leggings today and just went with H&M in the end. I know they wash well and don’t bobble like the SB ones did!

I looked at some tops in SB and Lululemon but just wasn’t convinced. I might try to get some from Vinted though.

Depends on the style. If aligns and you want complete comfort then lulu are better.

SB powers and super soft yoga leggings are more structured and flattering.
