Yes if I thought I would look good in it.

I personally would not look good in it as I need shape in my clothes but I love the colours and I think if it suits you you could wear it anywhere.

Defiantlynot41 · 27/04/2023 17:36

I'd say that was too casual unless it's an outdoor cocktail party. Lovely dress though!

MrsSkylerWhite · 27/04/2023 17:37

Agree a little too casual.

Haveallthesongsbeenwritten · 27/04/2023 17:38

Love it! I might buy it for myself, I don’t think I ever shopped at monsoon.

Chrispackhamspoodle · 27/04/2023 17:41

I love it but not for a cocktail party.

Cigarettesaftersex1 · 27/04/2023 17:41

Far too casual, I'd wear that at the beach

Silvergoldandglitter · 27/04/2023 17:44

It's too casual but it's beautiful

TheFlis12345 · 27/04/2023 17:45

Is it for a party that happens to have cocktails or has a ‘cocktail dress’ dress code been given?

IhearyouClemFandango · 27/04/2023 17:45

Ah bum. Thanks all. 👍

OP posts:

I love this dress was looking at it today,

But for garden party/beach party vibe

Ita gorgeous though

Cheletastic · 27/04/2023 18:13

I think you could with the right accessories, maybe some metallic shoes, sandals? I hate a dress code though 😂

slowquickstep · 27/04/2023 18:43

No, it's more of a beach dress

JemimaPyjamas · 27/04/2023 18:50

I think it's lovely and would be absolutely fine, but I am not the worlds most formal of dressers so...

Stravaig · 27/04/2023 21:42

I love the concept, but I think you need the deluxe version, made in a heavy structured silk, with top-notch embroidery or appliqué (and no pom-pom trim). As is, it's more casual summery dress. Can you turn the cocktail party into a beach barbecue?

bevelino · 27/04/2023 21:46

It is a nice dress but not for a cocktail party as it is too casual.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 27/04/2023 22:33

I love it and would wear it to a cocktail party but I don't do formal.

But it's only the pom pom trim that makes it. Imagine how dull that dress would look without it, even if it were in nice materials?

OP, I agree, it's not right. What is it you love about the dress? Perhaps we can find something?

FancyFanny · 27/04/2023 23:52

It would great at a BBQ, a beach bar on holiday, a summer music festival etc. but not really feeling it for a cocktail party x

Aquamarine1029 · 27/04/2023 23:53

It totally depends on what type of cocktail party it is.

I'm not entirely sure I know what a "cocktail party" is.

It's not that I don't get out. I've been to balls, big number birthday parties, weddings, anniversary parties, work events- (business and social, casual and formal ) invitation only arts and cultural events, charity fund raising dinners, political fund raising dinners but what the hell is a "cocktail party" ?

NatashaDancing · 28/04/2023 00:14

IhearyouClemFandango · 27/04/2023 17:45

Ah bum. Thanks all. 👍

It's a beautiful dress. It is not a beach dress.

I'd love to know what the posters authoritatively saying it's not a "cocktail party dress" think actually is a "cocktail party".

Deathmetal · 28/04/2023 00:16

It’s an interesting dress in that I’m not sure what occasion it suits. I think it’s the material that makes it look like something you’d throw on a beach over your bikini

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 28/04/2023 00:16

A cocktail party yes. Cocktail attire dress code, no.

UsingChangeofName · 28/04/2023 00:19

Excellent description.
It really gives a casual vibe though, and I'd say if something is being called a cocktail party, then the dress code is smarter

I disagree.

I think unless the "cocktail party" is something being thrown by something like an embassy or a consulate "cocktail party" it's a pretty meaningless dress code beyond distinguishing something between no jeans at one end and ball gowns at the other.

I suppose a publisher might have a cocktail party for a book launch (thinking back I might even been at a book launch "cocktail party").
