Outfit for posh day do!

I have been looking for a lovely dress and jacket for an outside posh day do in 2 weeks! I have about £300 to spend possibly a bit more if I find the perfect outfit. I'm coming up blank - I'm 60, size 14, my hairs a reddish brown bob. Once I have the outfit I'll look for shoes. Last time, for a similar occasion, I wore a lilac spotty dress and plain jacket to match (which I'd worn at a wedding). I'm starting to panic!

Those are both pretty, waltzing! Wear with a nice jacket, maybe a brooch or silk flower on lapel.

The weather is still up and down - no guarantee it'll be warm by then.

Do you already on a good coat? If so, what colour is it?

I do have a good navy coat but I really don't want to take it! Although it would be ideal to sit on if standing takes its toll if it's warm. So I will take it to the hotel and decide from there!

This is navy, the neckline will be good with a bob, and not too delicate for the spring weather.

That's gorgeous and I love how they show the different lengths all on different sized models.

Pick something that won't show the marks if you sit on something dirty and/or spill something. ie don't wear a white dress to an outdoor event where you might sit on an outdoor seat and get a brown/wet patch on your bum!
