White Stuff

I have never ordered from them before and like a few bits from their new range. Can anyone tell me if their clothes are good quality?

I love White Stuff! I've got some fab skirts and a couple of jumpers/tops from them. Also a lovely cord gilet. I think the product quality is fine. Can be a bit pricey but if you catch the sales or when they have a promotion, they are really good.

I love White Stuff too - have dresses, trousers, skirts which I wear to death, wash a lot and come out really well. Agree with Smithy - do watch out for the sales, they can be very good.

BettySpaghetti · 15/02/2008 09:53

Another vote here.

I've got a few bits and pieces too and love them

CountessDracula · 15/02/2008 09:57

Yes I have a few bits from them.

Watch out their sized are massive, you might want to go to the shop and try things - I ordered a size 14 denim skirt and it literally fell off me and I am a good 14

Habbibu · 15/02/2008 09:59

Clearly I am a better 14 than you, CD.

Trousers a bit long if you have preternaturally short legs, like me...

TheFallenMadonna · 15/02/2008 09:59

Oooh - long legs and generously sized. Sounds like my kind of shop....

SixSpotBurnet · 15/02/2008 10:00

Ooh I got their catalogue yesterday and I think I want everything in it!

Habbibu · 15/02/2008 10:02

FM - not sure if their legs are necessarily over long. I have short legs and a long spine, so am frankly not a dressmaker's dream.

SixSpotBurnet · 15/02/2008 10:03

I have very short legs too .

TheFallenMadonna · 15/02/2008 10:03

Oh dear - my legs are rather over long it has to be said. Still, may go and try things on.

BiancaCastafiore · 15/02/2008 10:06

Lots of positives then

I bought some bits from Fat Face in the autumn and have been disappointed with them - they seem to go saggy quickly and the boots I had leaked and had to be taken back (then I was told they weren't sold to keep my feet dry, but as a fashion item )

I can't get to a White Stuff shop very easily to try on...but I like shops where I can buy a size smaller than my usual size - a great ego boost!

I'm in need of everyday trousers that aren't jeans and really like lots of their other clothes too.

Yes I love them too. Most of my favourite and most-worn things are white stuff and they haven't fallen apart. Only thing is as I'm tall/have a long back, I find a lot of their tops a bit too short, unless they are a long tunic style. The long-length trousers are great though.

Habbibu · 15/02/2008 10:14

Gah, you tall long legged people. . Yes, Bianca - WS is fab - tell us what you get!

flowerybeanbag · 15/02/2008 10:54

Love White Stuff, definitely. And yes get size smaller - I had to send trousers back to exchange for a skinny size.

SilentTerror · 15/02/2008 11:07

So should Ibuy a 10 in trousers if I am usually a 10/12?
Agree about the new catalogue. Fab!

poppysocks · 15/02/2008 11:09

Another big vote for White Stuff. Most of my favourite clothes are from there. Usually wait for the sales to go into the shop as there's always still more stuff than I need/can afford left in the sales and it's just too tempting to go in when it's all full price.

I'd agree about some of their tops being a bit short. Seem to have got a bit better recently though.

mimsum · 15/02/2008 12:21

I really like some of their stuff, however quite a few of their tops are really low cut which doesn't really work for me cos I have nooo cleavage and the trousers are often low-waisted which can be interesting on a post-natal tummy

witchandchips · 15/02/2008 12:27

great stuff but sizing is a bit all over the place so you need to try stuff on.
i find i need to get a 12 in dresses and some tops but a 10 in the skirts and i am usually the other way round (bottom rather than top heavy iyswim)

InLoveWithSweenyTodd · 15/02/2008 13:12

can't praise White Stuff enough: fantastic flattering skirts (and I am not a girly girl but I do want to wear their skirts) and fantastic cords.
Not a big fan of the tops, but then I have trouble everywhere choosing tops.

Colinfirth · 15/02/2008 13:20

I love the dresses. Anbody got a view as to what size trouser I should order if am a 10/12 with squishy tummy issues?

DualCycloneCod · 15/02/2008 13:21

ITS ALL th$e same ISNT IT
HTIS CATALOGUE IS THE SAME AS LAST YEASRS

droopy dresses and gerometic a line skrits and moronic lookign models

DualCycloneCod · 15/02/2008 13:21

agree re sizing is not generous on bust

i liek ti but dp feel they need to UPDATE

Tutter · 15/02/2008 13:21

one opening here soon

on the site of dorothy perkins

we are so much more white stuff than dp here dahling

Colinfirth · 15/02/2008 13:26

Ok the clothes are all the same and the models look stupid but who needs change, I say.

snowleopard · 15/02/2008 13:34

That's one thing I like about them. I know I can get some nice cords, linen trousers, a skirt that looks good on me or a nice summer vest or cardi - in a flattering colour that I like - I know it will be there, so i don't have to traipse around 40 shops like topshop and french connection only to find that everything in there this year is suddenly neon yellow, made of polyester and fit only for a 14-year-old.

Yes I am old.
