As above really, I'm looking for something casual to wear with jeans/trousers. I'm not a style icon but although I'm nearly 57, I'm not quite ready for granny shoes. Don't want anything too young or too old. I usually wear converse but is that a cliche now?

I'm 5'9/10 and size 12-14 and have size 6 feet.

New balance or converse are my go to footwear and I'm knocking on too 🤣

Supergra I think are a fairly timeless
option. I’ve got the navy canvas ones and also had the white leather last summer too. Both comfy!

For a more “trainer” look, take a look at On Cloud. I run in these but if you look up the version called On Cloud 5, they are more fashion, for with jeans etc. I’m planning on treating myself to a white pair but they have lovely colours. Office sell some of them but worth googling to find the best price. Very, very comfy and so well made.

Thanks all for the further options. I'll have a good look and will take a visit into TKMaxx too for the ability to try on rather than order on-line. I do take the point about it being okay to treat myself too 😊

I do actually have a pair from M&S probably in a similar style to what i'd be looking at, but unfortunately they are unwearable due to the noise they make - really squeaky/farty noise. Scared to try again 😬

If you're not into ‘labels’, Clarks have some nice/comfy looking trainers as well as brogues and loafers. I think they also have a 30% discount on some styles this weekend too.
