Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liners - Worth the hype?

CummaCummaChameleon · 25/03/2023 20:25

I keep being served ads in FB for the Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liners. They receive rave reviews online and on social media, but wondering if they're the right thing for me to splurge £26 on en eye liner.

I have hooded eye so a thin clean line of eye liner works best for me. I'd be interested in trying the bronze colour to see if I can smudge it a bit to look Smokey but worried the effect would be lost in my hoods. I'm not worried so much about the liner rubbing off or transferring onto my lids as I've never had an issue with that.

Basically are they worth the hype? Do I splash out £26 on an eye liner? Has anyone with hooded eyes tried these? Thoughts please!

Yes yes yes! I love them! Bought one in olive green and loved it so much I bought two more!

Ticktocktimebomb · 25/03/2023 20:31

I have a couple, they’re nice but I find them too soft to get a thin line. They’re better for a smudged, smokey look. The colours are lovely and intense though.

nzeire · 25/03/2023 20:32

I bought one in dark claret, it is stunning!
you’ve just reminded me to get another :)

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/03/2023 20:34

I have two - they are awesome! Worth the hype.

SecondhandMuck · 25/03/2023 20:36

good for a smoky eye, not good if you're looking for a precise line.

CummaCummaChameleon · 25/03/2023 20:38

Ok, you're all selling me on them. At least to try a smudgey look. My preference of colour doesn't seem to exist online though. Smokey Quartz. Does anyone have this one?

None of the top 4 swatches seem to be available. My preference in colour would be Smokey Quartz or Night Flash. Neither are listed. So I'm considering Cocoa, Ash, or Sea Grey. Cocoa being my most likely choice

Yes! They are amazing- get the sharpener with it. I have Ash and cocoa

Fluffodils · 25/03/2023 20:50

Also I signed up to newsletter to get a small discount

onlymyselftoanswerto1 · 25/03/2023 20:52

Yes! I have cocoa and olive green and they are soo nice. You really can't go wrong with them. Definitely look for a discount code tho.

Merrilydancing · 25/03/2023 20:53

One of those rare products that really does live up to the hype. Love them!

impressivelycunty · 25/03/2023 20:55

They are no better than any other easy glide eye liner. Absolutely not worth the hype. Nothing special whatsoever imo.

pumpkintits · 25/03/2023 20:57

Yes they are worth it. So soft and easy to apply and smudge if you want, but when they dry they stay put.

They feel weighty too, which I just find really satisfying when I use them!

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 25/03/2023 21:17

Interesting. Have toyed with trying, but I'm put off by the terrible reviews on TrustPilot about her customer service.

CummaCummaChameleon · 25/03/2023 21:21

Does anyone know if there is a discount code for a min £50 spend? The one I've been sent is for a min spend of £75.

As for the sharpener - is it really different than any regular sharpener?

I wear mine on my waterline. Will it work? It looks amazing on the Facebook advert....

BangingOn · 25/03/2023 22:03

I have cocoa and use it on both my waterline and smudged on my lids, I love it. The sharpener is excellent, one of my pet hates is pencils that don’t sharpen well and this is not one of them.

SecretVictoria · 25/03/2023 22:05

The only problem is they use Evri to deliver them. Had to get in touch with Resolver to actually get them delivered.

TomatoSandwiches · 25/03/2023 22:10

If you want a more precise line Sisley do a really good Phyto Khol pencil and something similar to VB Phyto twist, really nice to wear.

Kissedbyfire1 · 25/03/2023 22:16

Colours are good but they are very very soft and smudgy. I have to sharpen mine almost every use. Not worth the money IMO.

Cazziebo · 26/03/2023 18:01

Just received the two I ordered last week and like them a lot. (|Sea grey and fig). I also got the brightening waterline pencil and was a bit underwhelmed when I applied it but standing back I believe it really makes my eyes look bigger and brighter.

Pretty impressed!

Sugaspunsista · 26/03/2023 18:03

I have 5. I love them. Really easy to smudge

Cranarc · 26/03/2023 18:36

They are very, very soft. Be careful when taking the lid off or you can knock off the lovely, new, sharp point before even using it which is a shame as you can never get it quite that sharp again. The sharpener is pathetic and not worth paying extra for if you already have a half-decent sharpener.

Smokey Quartz and Night Flash are lovely. I like all of the ones with a bit of shimmer or outright shine. The gold one is surprisingly wearable and the bronze is lovely. I am underwhelmed by the plain dark brown and dark grey. The lighter grey has a nice shimmer to it. I thought the purple would look nice, and it is a lovely colour but does not suit me. The blue and dark green are lovely. As you can tell, I have most of them...

They can be smudged very easily when first put on, or even spread over the lid as a shadow. But once it sets mine does not budge at all.My eyes are a bit hooded but not right down to the lash line. However, normal kohl pencils usually get smudged by the end of the day.

I've been looking at the brightening waterline pencil - good to hear your thoughts!

tinpotcleopatra · 27/03/2023 11:39

i like mine but can’t work out how to sharpen them…do you need the VB sharpener? Or can you use another sharpener? It feels like they should twist up but they don’t.

VirginiaQ · 27/03/2023 12:06

I love mine as do the friends I've recommended them to. Someone on here said the Avon Glittersticks were 'just as good' and I can say they really aren't.

Also do not buy the sharpener. It's really bad and and my standard Boots one works much better.

Thankfully I did manage to stock up in the Black Friday sale when they went down to £20. I also share the postage with a friend so that helps.
