Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liners - Worth the hype?

CummaCummaChameleon · 25/03/2023 20:25

I keep being served ads in FB for the Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liners. They receive rave reviews online and on social media, but wondering if they're the right thing for me to splurge £26 on en eye liner.

I have hooded eye so a thin clean line of eye liner works best for me. I'd be interested in trying the bronze colour to see if I can smudge it a bit to look Smokey but worried the effect would be lost in my hoods. I'm not worried so much about the liner rubbing off or transferring onto my lids as I've never had an issue with that.

Basically are they worth the hype? Do I splash out £26 on an eye liner? Has anyone with hooded eyes tried these? Thoughts please!

I do think that Urban Decay makes the best pencil liners though

Anyone have Ash? It’s for my top lid as find black a bit too harsh and want a natural look for daytime

Thinking of also trying the sea grey for a bit of colour for more made up days.

Tempted by the waterline one but have bought several brands of these over the years and never used them more than once as find they make my eyes too irritated.

I have bronze, black and cocoa and they are excellent. For precise line I use Wayne Goss ones but these are the best for smudged look and waterline.

Cranarc, really good information from you.
I like the look of smokey quartz & bronze... Which would you choose if you had to pick just the one?

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/09/2023 14:45

I have hooded eyes and I absolutely love VB eye liners. I have them in the olive shade, the navy and the fig (I have hazel eyes). I also have her eyewear ‘crayons’ in the oyster and the green - both stunning. You can smudge them really easily if you want, or not - they stay where you put them. My faves before were Urban Decay for pencils, and Charlotte Tilbury for fatter, crayon type pencils. Both still great but the VB ones are better imo.

I would choose Smokey Quartz. The bronze is slightly less shimmery and is also only brown/gold tones. Smokey Quartz has some grey tones in it too so would go with a wider range of eye shadow colours, I think.

I must have done something wrong. I found them far too soft and smudgy, they went everywhere and they’re the only makeup product I’ve thrown straight in the bin!

Shame because the colours are lovely, but they did nothing for me at all.

I have ash its gorgeous

I have to say I don't really get the love for them either. They clearly have a great marketing team.. they're ok but don't live up to the hype I find on here! They're too smudgy I find and don't stay put as well as I would hope.

Buildingthefuture · 24/09/2023 22:00

@dullandgrey agreed. Way too soft and smudgy for me and I find it migrates quite far down under my eyes during the course of the day?

SirVixofVixHall · 24/09/2023 22:09

I have gold, copper, aubergine, plum and the silver one (sea grey?) i wear all these a lot. I also have a green, not sure what the colour name is, and a teal, neither work as well with my eye colour though, for some reason ( I have green eyes). I like the softness. They do wear off during the day and I reapply them every now and again, but the colours are good .

Back21970 · 25/09/2023 01:05

I bought Ash and Sea Grey, the Ash will be perfect if you find black too dark.

Sea Grey ok, but nothing special.

I was under impressed to be honest, and won’t buy again - they do smudge nicely and if you leave it to set a couple of seconds does stay put but needs sharpening after every couple of uses and sometimes breaks - would end up too expensive for me replacing them if I wore makeup every day.

The Avon ones are not an alternative IMO, not smudgy enough although do prefer the twist up style rather than having to sharpen.

I am about to take the plunge and buy one of these but have never worn eyeliner before! Anyone fancy advising me which colour would suit me best for a first try? 😊

The aubergine colour of “Fig” would really emphasise how green your eyes are. Sea grey is a soft, flattering neutral with a bit of sparkle, the Copper is also fairly neutral and lovely if you wear Autumnal colours generally. You would also suit the Bordeaux which is a maroony plum colour and also good for green eyes, but a bit more vivid. I have green eyes and all those are flattering. I am about to buy the Cocoa colour as I don’t have that.

HangTheJib · 10/11/2023 11:05

Nice product, but not amazing.

orangeblosssom · 10/11/2023 12:24

They are really good

MadamVastra · 11/11/2023 10:33

Thank you @SirVixofVixHall i have ordered fig

LoreleiG · 11/11/2023 10:43

Yes I love mine! Best eyeliner I have ever had.

KevinDeBrioche · 11/11/2023 10:47

I absolutely love them too. Really easy to apply and smudge, but once set they don’t budge at all. I have cocoa and the green one but would like to try bronze too.

Fluffodils · 11/11/2023 11:06

They are 20% off at the moment and the 20% off applies to the set if 3 which is already discounted

No it doesn't. It just takes 20% of the price of three full price liners.

bookworm14 · 11/11/2023 20:14

Has anyone else had trouble sharpening these? I love mine but I just cannot get it to sharpen to a proper point. Very annoying as I would definitely buy more of them otherwise.
