Agree with fishie, you have very delicate colouring so dont think black would be your best colour (judging from the photos alone).
How about blue/green/purple instead?
Have you looked at Monsoon? There are loads of MOnsoon things on ebay and they are cut well for curves and go up to 18-20.
Will see if I can find anything...
How about a gorgeous skirt with plain top and pretty shrug as an outfit?

How about something like this
www.principles.co.uk/fcp/product/-/DRESSES/Butterfly-Print-Dress/6701
They don't do size 20 but I usuallly take a size down from normal in Principles, so you might be ok.
Its less dressy than the others, is it dresy enough?

fishie · 11/02/2008 21:51

is ok if sent as 'gift', no customs, not that american shops send presents but intermediaries can. we can go with the spirit of it anyway. schneebly is lilac good on you or do you look better in warmer colour?

Lulumama · 11/02/2008 21:52

fishie · 11/02/2008 21:55

what do you think of the shape of pannacotta's link? i think the material isn't quite right but otherwise...?

Lulumama · 11/02/2008 21:55

this is nice, from simply be

Pannacotta · 11/02/2008 21:59

That Monsoon dress is a gorgeous colour but am not sure the cut/style is the most flattering. Think a higher waist line eg empire is more flattering to most womens bodies.

schneebly · 11/02/2008 21:59

ooh that is pretty lulumama - good colours for me i think.

Lulumama · 11/02/2008 22:00

they have some nice things on there, and 10 % off your first order

fishie · 11/02/2008 22:01

monsoon cross front waist things are v flattering if you have a waist. do you? their dresses tend to be cut for shapely so if you are then no prob as there are lots of that style available. that colour nice for you, although blue would be good as well.

fishie · 11/02/2008 22:02

the simple be woman has saggy bosom in that frock. good colour though.

Lulumama · 11/02/2008 22:03

aye, but schneebly has gorgeous non saggy norks !

Pannacotta · 11/02/2008 22:03

I think its a bit insipid for a posh do (sorry Lulumama!)

schneebly · 11/02/2008 22:03

fishie - have a good waist from front but lumpy looking from side lol

OP posts:
fishie · 11/02/2008 22:04

i think the cut might be hopeless though, if even the model looks a bit odd and has to put jeans on.

schneebly · 11/02/2008 22:05

lol @ insipid - I might think that if it were evening Pannacotta but it is afternoon so maybe ok?
