I have so many skincare items I adore but I never feel like I've found hair care items I love.

I have really long hair (waist length), it's wavy and thick, easily tangled, dry prone (hardly ever gets greasy), tell me what shampoos, conditioners and other products you love. I like highly fragrant like herbal essence.

Also... What hair bobbles do you like? All mine are so crap.

This stuff is incredible uk.colorwowhair.com/products/dream-coat-anti-frizz-treatment does everything it says!!

doadeer · 06/03/2023 10:12

Oh I have this, I've never noticed it do anything 🙈

I got it in a cult beauty hair edit box.

How much do you use?

I had that too and gave it away however the instructions weren't the same as what @Aworldofmyown has posted so I may have been using it wrongly.

The best shampoo ever is the Herbal Essences with golden raspberry and mint - it's like £2 and is the only thing that makes my frizzy hair go soft and shiny without stripping it and making it feel fluffy. There's a conditioner with it too that seems to be good for my hair. Tried it all - salt-free shampoo, Noughty products, Philip Kingsley stuff including the elasticiser, all of it either does nothing, stops working after the first few washes, or deposits a load of crap on my hair and makes it feel claggy and heavy.

Tillytess · 06/03/2023 13:27

I bought the Colour Wow dream coat because it was so highly and frequently recommended. Did absolutely nothing for my long layered thick hair, left it looking brittle and dull. Whereas VO5 Heat protect serum made it look shiny and silky. Must stop falling for the hype!

cillygelly · 06/03/2023 13:40

Philip Kingsley Elasticiser and silk hair ties.

whiteonesugar · 06/03/2023 13:48

I use Olaplex and my hair has never looked or felt better. It's expensive though. Hair ties, I use silky scrunchies, or elastics with no metal on them to avoid breakage.

Aworldofmyown · 06/03/2023 14:27

Really! I'm surprised the few people I know who've used it really love it. I wonder if it depends on your hair type 🤔
You do have to blow dry it for it to work.

Emotionalstorm · 06/03/2023 14:31

Phillip Kingsley itchy scalp shampoo and conditioner. The only thing that gets rid of my dandruff and doesn't dry out my hair.

Lindy2 · 06/03/2023 14:34

DD has long curly hair that easily tangles and goes frizzy.

The Cantu Leave In Conditioner is working really well for her. She has lovely defined curls and it is much less tangled in the morning.

I've been trying lots of products to help with the tangles and frizz and this Cantu one us the only thing that's really worked.

SocksAndTheCity · 06/03/2023 15:58

Olaplex 6 and 7 (the leave in and the oil), plus Charlotte Mensah Manketti hair oil, which I bought a full size bottle of after using a sample from a beauty box last year.

All of these make a huge difference to mine.

PlugInBaby1 · 06/03/2023 17:23

I have the same hair type and I use slip (silk) bobbles and Le Labo hair mask which is amazing!! It's a thick (like butter) mask so lasts ages and it smells amazing. I really need to add
Moisture to my hair and this does just that.

Thingamebobwotsit · 06/03/2023 17:24

Philip Kingsley products without fail.

OxygenthiefexH · 06/03/2023 17:29

cillygelly · 06/03/2023 13:40

Philip Kingsley Elasticiser and silk hair ties.

THIS. It’s a miracle. Truly. I have hair like Catherine Tate’s nan without it.

Youpillock · 06/03/2023 17:49

Emla hair oil. Smells vile but nothing comes close in terms of making your hair feel like silk.

Pureology shampoos and conditioners.

Fanola purple shampoo for blondes.

Regaine has helped a bit with regrowth.

Biotin supplements.

Niftythrifter · 06/03/2023 18:15

Aussie leave in conditioner spray
Garnier leave in conditioner

I need a volumiser...do you or do you just use colourwow?

It says to dry your hair with it on and then add products. I can't see how that would work as I use a hair gel. It wouldn't work on dry hair.

Bed Head by TIGI Recovery Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner for Dry Damaged Hair, works for me.

catfunk · 07/03/2023 15:50

Pureology shampoo and conditioner
Pureology leave in heat protecting conditioner 🙌

I have similar hair; just past waist length, wavy, rarely greasy so wash once or twice a week, no heat.

I keep mine plaited if at home, and for overnight. Also use a silk bonnet and silk hair ties. Oil ends daily or often.

Favourite new product is Philip Kingsley daily leave in conditioner.

I bought it on recommendation here and liked it. I rarely blow dry my hair though.

Chocolatetadpole · 07/03/2023 16:51

Agree with the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer recommendations and then Redken Extreme shampoo with Redken all soft conditioner then Redken anti snap leave in.

Ladyofthelake53 · 07/03/2023 18:36

Bleach London hair mask, argan oil and i use the curly telephone wire type bobbles. Shampoo ive been using Dove intensive repair shampoo prob full of silicones but i have almost waist legth thick coarse wavy hair and it smooths frizz

Ladyofthelake53 · 07/03/2023 18:38

My favourite though is Kerastase but its too expensive

LuckyThatMyBreastsAreSmallAndHumble · 07/03/2023 19:39

Opalex did nothing for me!

I love the colour wow coconut dream cocktail before blow drying
