Yay or Nay! Dress for birthday dinner

Hey everyone :)

I'm having a birthday dinner with a couple of friends for my birthday. I'll be turning into my late 20's.

The restaurant we will be attending has a no causal style rule.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on these dresses?

what are you thoughts on the above dress particularly ^^? I love it but I don't know what I should wear on top of it as it's cold outside.

I concur with @waltzingparrot , although as much as I like All Saints I'd struggle to fork out that much for a dress I can't wash even at the sale price.

I find the slip dresses very dull and an odd fit, but then that depends on your shape (I'm not unfeasibly tall and thin, so that won't help).

I think the one with the sleeves is the best as it’s so cold at the moment a silky/straw pot slip dress would need something over the top to keep you warm? Unless you wear with a blazer..

The last one looks a bit summery and depends on your colouring but would wash me out (pale/blonde).

I think this time of year you need something a bit more structured?

I did like this dress but I couldn't justify the price. But I could make an exception.

That last blue one is lovely

I like the last one. The Venetia? I think it's a bit different and the cowl neck makes it less nightie like!

None of them really. The yellow floral one is the nicest but will really depend on your skin tone whether or not it would suit. In same vein baby blue or lilac could wash you out

I am mixed rage but on the darker side.

This is my favourite that you’ve shared. The first two in your original post I think look like nightwear. The last two I think are fine.

I agree with others about them looking like nightdresses, overpriced ones.
Giving an opinion on an outfit for anyone is difficult at the best of times but even harder for someone when you have no clue about height/shape/skintone etc etc.

Not helpful I know but you should really wear whatever you like and are comfortable in.

Love all these, and would buy any and all of them - but I am a total All Saints fan. Was just looking at the lilac Praia one earlier.
