Teenager holiday shop

Hi ladies. Another style question for me.

Can you suggest some new places (that I might not know if) for clothes for a teenager girl?

I've tried Shein, New Look, urban outfitters, hollister, but still don't like anything. It's hard for that age group- 12-14 years. Either too sexy, quality might be pretty low, don't want anything to fast fashion like Boohoo.

Would like to show her some nice dresses for a summer holiday.

Lovely dresses in M & S yesterday. The boys children section in the other hand..

ASOS

I find it hard to avoid fast fashion for younger teens without paying £££ for a hand sewn Liberty print smock, etc.

I buy gifts for my teen niece (doesn't wear 'sportswear' or anything very alt like goth/punk) at

  • Mango
  • M&S
  • H&M
  • Kidswear Collective (second hand brands)

H&M

For a 12-14yo girl? Whenever I see M&S kids clothes they look so babyish.

Vinted

It's really hard. I've been looking for swim wear for my two in that age range. They've outgrown the Next/Boden type but are too young for the more womanly ranges - and I'm too tight for the surfer types.

Mine like Hollister and Urban Outfitters but they're a bit pricier. New Look teen section is ok but a bit hit & miss on material.

I find Vinted hard to search unless you're looking for specific brands.

I'm looking for swim shorts and discovered they do cycling style ones for woman. It took me to Shein.

My goodness 🫣 love island has definitely influenced the swim wear on sale - I needed up scrolling just for inter st rather than because I'd wear any of it.

I love not wanted longer shorts because we go to CP in summer and better on the rapids and when we take our canoe out at the beach.

OP I agree that H and M are good for teen girls but also m and s can so some lovely stuff. I'd look both at petite adult as well as the teen range as the adult stuff tends to be more sensible rather than as little material as is possible to produce the outfit!

So we have recently found:

Berksha - Spanish brand with amazing clothes for teens

www.bershka.com/gb/

And Pull and Bear www.pullandbear.com/gb/

Also Stradivarius is good

Two are Spanish - so come up a little small but full of fab teen clothes

knackeredmu · 18/02/2023 10:42

Swimwear - decathlon has lots of sporty surfy styles without the price tag - racer back cropped top bikini tops etc - my teen loves them

More fancy swimwear / bikinis then we go to Hollister and H&M

The baggy cargo pant with a pretty crop top is a nice look for summer - I'm not sure I'd get mine into a dress although we've had a few lovely Hollister ones but maybe it's a little early for their summer ranges

TheDead · 18/02/2023 10:48

At that age my dd was mainly dressing from bershka, pull & bear, stadvarius & h&m. With converse both hi & low tops

She's late teens now & still buys some things in bershka from time to time & she still wears converse & dm patent laced up shoes . North face short puffer jacket etc

gogohmm · 18/02/2023 11:08

My DD's wore mostly H&M at that age, for special occasions we had the option of miss selfridge or top shop now closed unfortunately. Mango, pull & bear, Jack wills are favourites now

tryingsomethingnew · 18/02/2023 14:08

Glad to hear it's not just me!

Tough for girls that age. Haven't looked at HM. But will check out the other places you've mentioned.

Bershka is the favourite in this house.

ghostyslovesheets · 18/02/2023 14:12

My 14 year old likes Zara, H+M, River Island, Boohoo and Primark

She tall though to wears adult sizes

tryingsomethingnew · 18/02/2023 14:28

Pull and Bear looks lovely. But a little more for older Teens. Saw a few on Bershka. I don't know if it's just me, but I find Zara's website so hard to see. Te models are always bending! Lol.

I'll try Stadivrus now

Cupshe for swimwear, they’re online.

Stokey · 18/02/2023 18:35

Mine got this H&M dress last year which was really nice when it was hot.

thanks for the swimwear tips, I've picked up some decent bikinis at Decathlon.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 18/02/2023 18:38

Is Bershka only online?

whatapalavaaa · 18/02/2023 18:55

Surfdome online are good for swimwear and do some clothing too.

TiggyLightfoot · 18/02/2023 19:28

Brandi Melville

tryingsomethingnew · 18/02/2023 20:04

I looked and there's a Bershka on Regent Street London.

There's a Brandy Melville in Covent Garden.

Shein is literally fast fashion

TiggyLightfoot · 19/02/2023 16:02

Brandy Melville shop in Covent Garden is so much better than the website. Well worth a visit if you can.
