BODEN- I am so over them after 30 years.

If I was married to them I'd be filing for divorce.

I loved them thirty years ago when I bought a poacher's jacket.
There was the honeymoon years when I couldn't get enough of them. Lovely knitwear, basic trousers, nice plain-ish smart dresses, great wool coat still going strong after 10 years.

And now I can't bear the sight of them.

The colours are garish, patterns headache-inducing, dresses nothing that appeals, prices- well, don't get me started on those - £80 for a pair of basic jeans? T-shirts close to £30. I could afford all of this but refuse to be ripped off.

I wonder if they will exist in a few more years?

I think they’re in trouble. I get sent lots of vouchers that I can’t be bothered to use. Precovid I’d have been excited. Nowadays I have a quick look and think ‘nah’. It’s not even worth it with £10 or £20 off.

I’ll be gutted if they go under. Not for me, but the kids stuff!

I only discovered Boden a few years ago when Frugi went downhill (and lo, what happened there…).

They’re one of the few places that stock nice bright, fun kid stuff for over 3 year olds. DD is a lanky 5 year old, and will be in the older kids range

Ffs hit post too soon.

Basically they’re the only place I can find nice bright lad’s clothes that aren’t navy/grey/brown or plastered in skulls or tractors.

And they do nice bright and age appropriate girls stuff up to teen years.

Buck up your ideas, Johnny!

I've had to give up on them. They're prices are stupidly high now and I don't 'get' the designs.

I just ordered some pieces from Manners London and am very happy with the quality and fit. Very figure smoothing!

I really like the garishness (can’t help it, no accounting for taste) but (a) not for that price and (b) not in polyester.
