I normally just stick a bit of brown eyeliner and mascara on. I'd like to make a bit more of my eyes. Eyes are blue with dark blonde hair. Bonus points if I can buy stuff in Boots tomorrow 😅

I just put eyeshadow in my socket line. A matte greenish grey. Other colours would work. Then I use a black mineral eyeshadow powder as eyeliner on my upper lash line. It can be applied very close to the lashes with a small, flat angled brush- looks almost like tight lining. Then a mascara on top lashes only. This lasts all day. If you wanted to add to this look you could highlight with a light eyeshadow in the middle of the socket and on the brow bone.

Like this here. But I've just the eyeliner shadow underneath a bit as well. 🙂

Nothing on the lid?

Nope. Not there. Just shadow in the socket line. I've found it's the best way to prevent creasing,

echoesacrosstheether · 09/02/2023 20:45

..some might migrate a bit, though.

echoesacrosstheether · 09/02/2023 20:46

I do soften the line with a brush.

Cyclistmumgrandma · 09/02/2023 20:50

None. Suits me fine.

Imtoooldforallthis · 09/02/2023 20:50

Try pink to make your eyes pop, something like this.

I haven't used eyeshadow for years! Maybe I'll start.

I use Charlotte tilbury eyes to mesmerise cream eyeshadow in a bronze over lid and into socket blending up not quite to eyebrows I also lightly run it under my eyes. Then a bit of winged eyeliner from Collection (24hr extreme felt tip type). I tried eyeshadow powder and whilst I like it occasionally I find it can age me. Brush eyebrows and clear gel & that’s all.

justasking111 · 09/02/2023 22:48

Concealer above and below the eye to even the skin out. Sponge into foundation. Then a light pink eyeshadow, in the crease I like green if I'm going out somewhere. Grey eyeliner or green. Maybelline mascara. A little pencil on lower lashes.

Have a bit of fun you tube do some great tutorials for mature women.

Same here, no make up at all is so easy.

Shopgirl1 · 10/02/2023 08:32

Mascara only for me.

Tirednest · 10/02/2023 08:32

Well, yes. I like make up though and I've never met a single living person who doesn't look better with even a tiny bit.

You could try following Trinny on Facebook are videos are good and short.

PuppyMonkey · 10/02/2023 08:37

I have blue eyes and grey hair and just do brown eyeliner, black mascara, little bit of light brown on lids and socket, darker brown again over the socket area only. Touch up my eyebrows with a pencil. Don’t know if this is incorrect but it takes about 2 mins.

For grey hair though I can honestly say it’s more about the bright lipsticks I wear in terms of making my eyes pop. Not sure if that’s relevant for blonde too?

TheFallenMadonna · 10/02/2023 08:38

I use an eyeshadow primer which helps to stop it creasing and makes it last longer. I have white/grey hair and have used eyeshadow since ditching the dye. I use a greeny grey one most of the time. Plus kohl pencil in grey or brown.

Yes I love a really bright pink lipstick!

You can get a little tube of primer by Urban Decay - I can’t remember the name but it’s in a small lilac coloured tube and they sell it in boots.

I use a bit of that, it’s amazing stuff, pretty sure it was recommended on here. Over the top I use some pale browns from a Bare Minimals palette (bought in boots) but I also use a MAC shadow in the corner - really deep plum colour, just a bit if it but it’s lovely.

MAC stack mascara over the top, best I’ve used in ages, but Benefit ‘They’re Real’ is ok too, and they sell that in Boots.

Jabiru · 10/02/2023 08:44

MAC lipsticks last ages

Tirednest · 10/02/2023 08:47

Fab thank you !

I have a Bare Minerals palette and I use the pale pinky/beige colour all over my eyelids. Then a darker brown in the crease line. Finish with some grey Rimmel Scandaleyes pencil on my lash lines above and some black mascara. Takes three minutes tops.

Curlingstone · 10/02/2023 08:53

Try brown mascara - think it was Sali Hughes who did something in guardian last weekend - great for blue eyed blonde. Benefit brow stuff is good and not ott. Mac do some little pots of shadow (paint pots) which don't budge. They're not powder, quite thick & gunky ( in a good way). Go for taupe/slightly not naked shades. Tightline with a dark brown kohl pencil. Bit of blush & you're good to go 🙂

beguilingeyes · 10/02/2023 11:02

A friend of mine who's blonde/blue eyed got me into pink eyeshadow and I'm a convert. It really does make your eyes pop.

I'd be worried that I'd look as though I had conjunctivitis
