What has been your best Beauty Advent Calendar discovery?

What has been the best new (to you) product in your beauty advent calendar?

Mine is Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil. I love it. It’s pretty expensive but the 30 ml bottle I got in my Latest in Beauty calendar will last for ages.

Can anyone remind me of the perfume that was in one of the advent calendars a few years ago - a perfume, small round tube flowers on, quite unisex. Not what & blue but similiar. Can't remember the name &'driving me crazy x

HelloBunny · 31/01/2023 23:26

I like those Aveda Botanical tubes, too! Have loads of them now, use them instead of conditioner. I tend not to use conditioner, so I just run a little bit of this stuff through the ends. It got me into other Aveda products.

Rainbowshit · 31/01/2023 23:35

Weleda skin food
Paula's choice BHA
Santal 33
Nuxe oil
Rodial micellar water

Rainbowshit · 31/01/2023 23:38

Oh and an hourglass eyeshadow.

OutDamnedSpot · 31/01/2023 23:38

Nuxe Oil
Shay and black perfume
Emma Hardie balm

Spirini · 31/01/2023 23:43

From m&s:
Emma Hardie balm is lovely but too pricey for me
Love the lumene cream, will buy this as the price point is good

Nixbox · 01/02/2023 14:17

@beachcitygirl was it M&S own brand? Sea salt and freesia, same shape and size as Shay and Blue. Label is mainly white with pale blue at one end.

CardinaldeRichelieu · 01/02/2023 16:51

@Zoetrope1 I haven’t been too impressed with the Susanne Kauffman eye rescue serum so far but maybe I am not using it correctly. How are you using it? Do you see much affect?

BobbinThreadbare123 · 01/02/2023 16:56

I didn't get the most recent M&S calendar but I like the Aveda leave in conditioner in the green tube. Also the M&S own brand hand cream in the yellow tube - bergamot I think. Smells awesome; like aromatherapy

Coconut80 · 01/02/2023 17:21

My favourite discovery by far is the Christophe robin scalp scrub in a jar. Makes my lank, thin hair full of body, I've just splurged on the full sized jar.

Loving the Sunday Riley VitC cream will repurchase.

Loving CT eyeshadow quad, tempted now to try more of her makeup.

Love the advent calendars for trying new products, I liked but not as much as the above the lumene Nordic berry facial oil, nuxe powdery cream and elemis serum

Roundaboot · 01/02/2023 17:29

YY to the Lumene oil serum from John Lewis and the Emma Hardie balm from M&S.
I'm also really enjoying the Acqua di Palma from John Lewis. I'm wearing it today and it's just such a nice, clean, soapy smell.

There was a facial exfoliator in an M&S calendar a few years ago that somebody called Face Footner. It was amazing, and I always meant to repurchase but I think they stopped making it 😢

I'm currently using the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream and I'm really not a fan. The texture is so odd - it feels gluey and almost a bit watery? And it doesn't seem to be doing much for my skin so I definitely won't repurchase

WFHbore2023 · 01/02/2023 17:32

Rodial bee venom moisturiser

NorthernSoul55 · 01/02/2023 17:33

The REN eye cream from this years M&S calendar. I've tried so many before, all have irritated my eyes but this doesn't and my under eye skin looks much better.

EspeciallyDetermined · 01/02/2023 17:43

Nuxe Oil for me, also a perfume in this years M&S calendar called Warm Neroli. Interesting that so many love the Black Tulip, it made me nauseous and went straight to the charity shop.

IloveJudgeJudy · 01/02/2023 17:50

Nice merveillance firming velvet cream from the M&S calendar. Just right for my skin. Just got to use up my other creams before I finish it and buy some more.

AprilLady · 01/02/2023 17:57

I’ve still got lots to try from last year’s calendars, but favourite so far is probably the Le Labo The Matcha perfume from the Liberty calendar.

The surprise stand out product from the 2021 calendars for me was the Westman Atelier Tabac eyeshadow in the CB calendar. Just a perfect, super easy to apply, single shade only look for me that has become an everyday staple.

YorkieTheRabbit · 01/02/2023 18:37

Shay and Blue Blood Orange perfume which was in an M&S calendar a few years ago, I’ve repurchased it, lovely winter fragrance
Also the M&S facial footner as mentioned above, I bought it a couple of times but i I think it’s since been discontinued
This year I got the JL calendar, I will definitely buy the Bobbi Brown cheek colour, I have it in another shade but this one seems nicer for winter
Love the Christophe Robin scalp scrub, use it once a week and still got quite a bit left, will repurchase.
Other items I’ve tried so far have been the Kate Somerville exfoliating mask, quite like but haven’t made my mind up to buy
Lumene arctic berry oil, yes I think I’ll buy again
Vitamin c cream, can’t remember the make, yes
Eye cream, pink in colour, no idea of brand, no
Augustinus Bader cream, no
Mac lipstick, it’s ok, but won’t bother buying it

Orangello · 01/02/2023 18:52

Malin+Goetz Dark Rum Perfume Oil from this year's Cult advent calendar. Just love it, bough hand wash and body lotion to match.

beachcitygirl · 02/02/2023 19:11

Thanks @Nixbox it was floral street, my daughter just remembered! Was driving me mad. It's lovely

QueefofSheena · 02/02/2023 20:06

Bioeffect EGF serum and a Pat McGrath palette (Flannels), Versace Crystal Noir perfume (Debenhams). Also quite liked Moschino Toy 2, cute little bottle

saveforthat · 31/01/2023 21:27

It wasn't in a calendar but one of those beauty boxes where you allegedly get £300 worth of goods for about £40. Christophe Robin scalp scrub. I thought it was a body scrub at first and was disappointed because I have loads of those. It's brilliant I use it instead of shampoo once a week and my usually slightly greasy hair is now clean and shiny. Also smells gorgeous.

What do you actually do with it? How Mich do you use ? I haven’t opened mine because I don’t know how to use it.

notanicepersonapparently · 02/02/2023 20:50

From Holland and Barrett a couple of years ago - Weleda arnica muscle soak. I’d have been put off by the name as it hardly sounds luxurious does it? I love the smell though. I’ve repurchased several times.

Plump82 · 02/02/2023 20:55

The Ordinary Mandelic acid from Look Fantastic which surprised me as I'm never a fan of their stuff but it's transformed my skin and I swear it's reduced my frown line.
I'm also loving the hair, nail and skin vitamins from Holland & Barret's calendar.

saveforthat · 02/02/2023 21:24

ItsCurtainstothat · 02/02/2023 20:32

Use it instead of shampoo. Scoop a bit out with your finger a teaspoon will probably be enough, massage into scalp then rinse. It lathers brilliantly.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/02/2023 22:07

I haven't bought Advent Calendars except the Holland&Barrett a couple of years back and an Aldi skincare about 8 years ago .

M&S Radience Peel (aka Face Footner ) I read so much about it on here I bought some . It was amazing , left my skin glass like , and of course , they don;t do it now Sad
