Lands End stuff

I owe them an apology! I just ordered two coats at over half price off in their mega sale. I always thought Lands End was strictly for snowstorms in middle America and not suited for central London life, but both are really well made and not as unstylish as I thought. Incredibly light and warm too, with great hoods, pockets and cuffs.

I am wondering if this is just because I am getting older and now putting function over form. Any other stuff that's good from Lands End? Their sale is fab.

I've had loads of swimwear from there - really good

I live fairly close to their outlet shop, so have picked up a lot of things over the years. Most recent was a cashmere jumper - heavily discounted and really soft

Most of DH's casual trousers come from there and they last really well too.

We should be friends.

EdithWeston · 29/01/2023 21:35

@RutlandVasey Perhaps we already are!?

RutlandVasey · 29/01/2023 21:36

@EdithWeston But in RL we would never admit we’re on Mumsnet.

MrsCarson · 29/01/2023 21:55

We buy the supima cotton tee shirts, both long and short sleeved I like the V neck ones best.
Dh has their Shearling slippers and loves them. I've been wearing their jeans since I was in my 30's mid rise straight leg bit of stretch. Comes in lots of inseam lengths.
We both have their coats (mine is a puffa jacket in grey with orange lining made from recycled bottles) and when my kids were little they all had Squall parkas for school.

The pyjamas are good.

The lack of free returns really puts me off ever ordering - it's a big financial risk having to pay to return things.

They refund the postage once you return the stuff. Well they did for me this Christmas.

friskybivalves · 29/01/2023 21:59

Yoga trousers are ace. Velvet jeans are brilliant. All manner of shapes and sizes and leg lengths catered for. I'm a fan.

amprev · 29/01/2023 22:02

I bought a gilet from there a few Christmases ago for my back to the future obsessed teen. It was on the car seat and it got broken into overnight on my path. I went to reorder and it was out of stock so I rang them and not only did they find me one, they sent it for free! I'm a fan! An all round good brand.

dizzydizzydizzy · 29/01/2023 22:04

I love their PJs. I have also just bought some swimming shorts which are very good.

JanglyBeads · 29/01/2023 22:08

They do shoes in Wide size 9, love em!

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 29/01/2023 22:15

Worth it for the pyjamas and slippers alone (currently sat in some flannel pjs which must be 10 years old). Cashmere and kids’ stuff good too.

Reallybadidea · 29/01/2023 22:47

I bought some snow boots for £25 a few years ago. They're the best dog walking boots I've ever had - warm, comfortable, waterproof. After cleaning them up they were nice enough to wear on a v. cold European winter city break with lots of walking and no sore feet! I will cry if they die and I can't get another pair.

nonamehere · 29/01/2023 23:09

Their swimsuits are well-made, lined and very comfortable (properly 'tugless') but the colours fade very quickly if you swim in a pool regularly. Weirdly, the linings don't fade so much - so why aren't they the outer layer...?

Do I pay to return my parcel?
If you return for exchange within 28 days of despatch we will happily refund your return postage. If you are returning for a refund you will need to pay to return the item to us either via Royal Mail or Evri Returns.

www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Water_Repellent_Waxed_Cotton_Parka_/pp/P_42901.html?cgid=Tab_2&dwvar_P__42901_color=9BA

I found my Perfect Parka ....... at last Grin
Green , non shiney
No fur round the hood
Zip pocket
Draw waist
There's a bit of lining (fur) but not too much
Non blingey hardware
No contrast colours
And a fishtail hem ( 100% must have a fishtail)

Thank you for linking Lands End @Lentilweaver

I've had 2 of their down coats. The original is now relegated to dog walking but it must be over 10 years old and way too big. It's replacement is on its 4th winter and good for many more.

QuestionableMouse · 30/01/2023 18:58

I'm wearing a pair of their PJs now. So comfy and wash really well! I must have about ten pairs 😂 the cotton dressing gowns are amazing too, really good quality and fit really well.

The starfish trousers are super comfy and quite flattering too. I wish they'd bring the Jean style ones back though!

The cotton/model tops are brilliant for layering - they're thin so you don't feel smothered!

I got a fabulous full length waterproof coat in an amazing sale in Oct - it's amazingly warm and the most waterproof one I've ever tried.

QuestionableMouse · 30/01/2023 19:07

Just wanted to show my amazing bargain off too 😂

It is honestly SO WARM and has kept me dry through some terrible weather!

Lands End stuff
Lentilweaver · 30/01/2023 19:40

You are welcome, @70isaLimitNotaTarget. That is a nice parka, really simple and non-blingy, as a parka should be.
