Extra long women’s trousers

DD (13) is 5’8” but has ridiculously long legs, like her dad. School trousers are becoming an issue, the extra length ones from m&s are too short even with the additional hem down. I’ve just bought some Sainsbury’s women’s “long” black trousers which are about 1cm longer than the m&s ones, and still not really long enough.

I don’t want to have to go Long Tall Sally prices for school trousers, but are there any extra-long legged budget brands out there?

Would men’s trousers work, or be too obvious? I don’t think DD would care (few girls wear the school trousers) but don’t want her to get comments.

This isn’t a problem I have ever had as although I’m 5’6” I need petite trousers due to my teeny legs!

@WhereAreWeNow the PE kit situation is ridiculous for a state school, until recently it had to be under armour brand (with school logo), but you could only buy online & loads of parents couldn’t get supply in time to start yr 7! Not great when kids get sanctions for incorrect kit (school was understanding but it’s not what you need going into yr 7!).

Now it is a local supplier so you can at least try on, but the length only increases with waist size(!), so the ones that were long enough fell down.

I will write to school as it isn’t fair, yes DD has unusually long legs but she shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable in PE (not her favourite subject!). But then we had to do all indoor PE in just gym knickers, so at least times have changed!

LTS is really cheap quality now, they've partnered with Yours. I miss the old skool LTS from 25 years ago where you could get really good quality pieces that would last years. Fortunately M and S have stepped up to the plate and I'm doing a lot of shopping there these days .

Sainsbury long trousers are a joke. I’m 5ft 8. They are nowhere near long enough for me.

Well my Next order was a complete miss - one style (10XL) was way too big round the waist and would need taking up (which would be ok if they hadn’t been falling down!), the other (also 10XL) was a bit snug round the waist and too short in the leg!

Off to look at ASOS.
