Night out, leather skirt what top and shoes??

38, 5'1 size 10, not into fashion at allllll, goig to manchester for the night with new fella and I'm looking at faux leather skirts, not sure if i could pull it off🤣 but i like the look of them.

One friend said lace body suit and a blazer with either stappy heels or knee-length boots? Also, I dont know if i can pull a body suit off. I'm much more used to wellies 🤣🤣🤣

If you were my age, what would you wear with a leather skirt??

Leather skirt, black bodysuit and over knee boots is always a winner for me 👌🏻

I’d wear a thin merino jumper in black or dark grey, v neck, with simple black heels. Boots plus leather skirt can look a bit too saucy in my opinion.

I agree, loose thin knit top as don't want to be hot..I would wear opaque black ties and black biker style ankle boots.

My friend went out out in a black leather mini skirt and looked fab. She's probably same height and size 8. People were stopping her the bar ask about her outfit.

She wore it with a black T-shirt that had a sequin logo/design on it, black velvet jacket and black ankle boots. All high street purchases.

I wear this bodysuit with mine. It’s from a while ago but there must be a similar one somewhere.

I think strappy heels if top is covered but boots may be more comfortable?

I like any type of bodysuit with leather skirt but the thin knit top is a good idea. Watched a Viv Westwood documentary last night and she said a thin knit cardi with two buttons undone at top is sexy. I was taking notes 😂

Genuinely curious, why do people choose bodysuits over regular tops? Trying to figure out if I'm missing a trick.

They look smoother as pulled down and dont come untucked.

I have 2 leather skirts and I wear them lots - either with a fitted t-shirt or a fine-knit jumper. Both look great. I think lacy and tight combined with leather might be a bit too night-out vibe for a gig

Duh you said night out! I'm not sure how I imagined the gig bit! I'd say lace and leather is quite dressy but it could look v good too! Probably too much for me but I think theres that old adage that you dress less for a night out in London

I'm a big fan of a leather skirt. Personally I would avoid the lace body suit as leather + lace is a bit OTT sexy for my taste. I would go for the thin-knit jumper, cool t-shirt or blouse, depending on your style.

On the shoes - I never wear knee high boots with mine because I am very tall and again, it's OTT 'sexy'. But I am very envious of shorter women who I think look fab with a leather mini and boots. I would keep the boots flat and/or chunky for this look, with thin merino tights.

Yes length makes a difference - I wouldn’t go too sexy on the top. It’s not a very modern look ( although I don’t go out in Manchester ) I love a plain or print t shirt. I appreciate the sweater might be too hot but I thought I’d show you a day time look too.

Ok, so....its short but not crazy short just above knee, I've also ordered a black body suit, which is like Jersey material with mesh over it.

So would a black blazer be too much black?
