To microblade or not to microblade? The brow is the question 🤨

So I have ill defined eyebrows. Well, the start of my brows are okay, but then they disappear half way. It's like I have 1/2 eyebrows, without the tail if you will. I'm thinking of getting microblading. But I'm worried I'll look ridiculous, and there'll be no going back. Thoughts? Is microblading a fad or a revolutionary eyebrow perfecting innovation? 🤨

Revolutionary. I had similar brows to you and am very fair. My microwaved brows are very subtle but make a huge difference to the framing of my face. I've had them years and top up every 18mo and will do so until I die.

I have been thinking about this treatment too and interested to know how painful it is during and after because it sounds like tattooing. I have always been too chicken for that.

I have same brows & have had micro blading.. just go for a really skilled practitioner & keep it subtle. They really frame your face & can look natural if done right. It doesn't hurt that much, like a scratchy sensation.. I wish I could afford to get it done again, mine are fading now so bear in mind do need to top up every 2 years..

I debated it for a LONG time. I'm fair and have rubbish eye brows... finally decided to go for it and I love them! I feel so much better not wearing make up cos I actually have Eyebrows now. Just had them topped up after 14 months (I think that's earlier than I needed to but hoping to get pregnant this year and you can't have them done when pregnant or breastfeeding).

Look at the.browcreator on Instagram, just for the before and after pics to see what a difference it makes, and also how you can achieve the look you want i.e. subtle or a dramatic brow.

It is a tattoo, it's not painful but also not very pleasant. They use numbing cream which you can tell your artist when it starts to get painful and they can add some more numbing cream.

Yes it will transform your face. Mine didn’t have a tail and one is higher than the other but the microblading made them even and the shape is balanced. It makes such a difference to how awake I look. Make sure you choose someone where you have looked at lots of photos of their work. There’s also nano strokes which more feathery than the sharper microblading strokes

I think it hurts! My lady doesn't use the numbing cream though - it's proper toe curling. Def worth it though!

Hi, eyebrows disappearing / thin on the outer part can be a sign of under an active thyroid - suggest to check the other signs x

I keep debating this. I have disappearing brows but with the added bonus of them tailing off along my brow line but then making up for it down the eye socket if that makes sense? So they're really sparse where you'd expect brow to be and then there's hairs patchily down the final third to my eyelashes. It's this bit that I'm not sure they can do anything about-surely once they've been done I wouldn't then be able to wax over the top of them? How do you deal with errant hairs once you've got the micro bladed shape you want?!

Just hair remove as usual. It's like waxing/plucking over a tattoo

I considered for ten years before finally taking the plunge last year and I wish I’d done it sooner. I over plucked in the 90’s, to fit in with the pencil line trend at the time and it’s one of my biggest regrets. There’s a healing process which last several weeks, but they settle down lovely. I found it painful - and I didn’t find my ankle tattoo painful, so I think experience is very variable. My eyes were streaming with it throughout the process, but I still say it was worth it. Pop some paracetamol ahead of your appointment.

Wait, really? What are the other signs? Is this a simple blood test to check?

Also, while I'm deciding on the "to microblade or not" dilemma, is there a brow pencil brand that anyone would recommend? I've never used a brow pencil!

I'm thinking of getting mine microbladed too OP. Am not worried about the pain but am worried incase they end up looking ridiculous and fake. Can anyone here who's had it done provide a photo just so I can see what to expect? Only needs to be of your brows themselves. I just don't trust those on people's websites/ fb etc as always think they will have been filtered or edited in some way to make them look better than they are!
I over plucked mine in the 90s and now they are very sparse! Also, could you give some idea of the cost?

Mine didn't hurt, just make sure they use numbing cream. I still top up with brow pencil, but that's because I have dark hair and eyes and overplucked back in the day.

As long as you don't have a full on tattoo they should be fine. I know someone who had very expensive ombre tattoos and they looked terrible. Microblading is pretty subtle after they heal. I have a mix of microblading and powder effect as microblading on its own isn't quite intense enough for me.

Do it! It's completely changed my face. But I'd suggest getting a powder brow or similar rather than microblading. It hurts less and has a much better finished result. Costs me around £350 but worth every penny and I'm just outside of London so might be a but pricey around here.

Bear in mind if you are fair and you've gone for darker microblading you'll probably need to keep dying them.

I don't like most of them. Most of them are harsh, unnatural and ott. There's only a few that I've ever seen that I thought were well done. When they are subtle they look fab.
