Shoes needed to go with a dress

this is the dress

I'm attending my brothers wedding soon and needs footwear. Problem is - the area his wedding is in is old cobbled streets (abroad), hilly etc. So they need to be low heeled. Problem is in also short so feel odd in flats.

I have no preference on colour at all, font have the bag yet so I will just get something after I get the right shoes.

Preferably under £100.

Bonus points if they would likely suit being worn on the evenings of the rest of the holiday to reduce packing load!

Could they be chunky heeled, rather than low heeled?

I’ve loved these for ages (they seem to have had various colours over a period of time). More than £100 though, sorry!! www.modainpelle.com/shoes-c1/high-heel-shoes-c17/shore-metallic-leather-p4930

Hang on… Chunky heel AND a lower heel version… www.modainpelle.com/sandals-c29/heeled-sandals-c41/sandypearl-silver-snake-print-p11581

Ok I don't mind the main body of the shoe, but (I'm sorry!!) I really really don't like the balls in the heel element.

That’s fair enough, no problem 😂 I like a quirky / ‘jolie-laide’ shoe.

New look have some suitable silver/grey chunky heeled shoes that should work, one example;

I don’t have any recommendations but a low wedge would be a good option

Cant find exactly what I wanted in your price range but I would absolutely go with something like this...there will definitely be cheaper dupes out there and would be nice with plenty of other holiday outfits. Dress is lovely!

This is about the max level of "dressy" shoe I'd ever usually go to, and frankly it's a miracle I even found a dress I like, so I'm appreciating all of the suggestions.

I've not worn even a low heel since pre lockdown. I swap between birkenstocks and trainers, and that's about it.

A low wedge would be fine!

What about these? Would either of these go? Rose gold and regular gold

I'd go for a dressy wedge in gold. They are summer shoes though so you might be best waiting until the Spring stock is out.

I think these would really bring down how beautiful the dress is. As a casual shoe they are nice but not paired with your dress.

piliomachaon · 20/01/2023 22:16

I'm not a heel wearer normally but find the Linzi shoes at next very comfortable by the way. They have a lot of styles in a lower heel too.

Lovely but too casual for that dress. They dont go.

The third ones down on your list are the nicest of all the suggestions so far.

I'm really incredibly bad at dressy Grin

Honestly just wear what you're comfortable with. The dress will still look beautiful anyway! Jazz it up with a lovely bag and no one will care about your shoes.
