So I have a day in London next week, flying in, walking round city and nice lunch and dinner. What can I wear that will be comfy and stylish?

Forgot to say, with either of those versions I’d wear a good, not too hot, scarf. I’ve just treated myself to a VW one, so it would be that one. I’d carry a small cross body bag with purse and phone and a Longchamp le pliage with brolly and room for buying books!

You're going to get hot on the tube/ in galleries etc
Wear trainers!

Theos · 15/01/2023 09:11

Totally agree that you’re overthinking this.

Everyone in London looks pretty much of a mess to be honest

Comfy shoes or trainers

piscosours · 15/01/2023 09:18

Loose dress, tights, comfy boots, coat

Definitely no to skirts.

You’ll just see a load of Spanish tourists in brown colour pleather trousers that don’t fit and very shiny coats.

Is it because It’s cold..? I don’t want to wear skirts when it’s cold. Or anything on my feet that isn’t quite soft and warm. But then, I’m pretty much of a mess 😁

Thesonglastslonger · 15/01/2023 16:33

Comfy shoes, not trainers if you’re eating at a very smart hotel as some still have dress codes for footwear.

black trousers nice top and a
jumper with a waterproof coat.

I live in London and mostly wear skirts with thick tights in the winter, much easier on rainy days than ending up with wet trouser hems.

And any comfortable shoes. I wear a lot and ankle boots but also trainers. Personally don't find the tube particularly hot on an otherwise cold day but you can always take your scarf off or wear your coat open if it feels too warm otherwise. Next week looks cold! My house has been 15C when heating was off today 🥶
