Face lift at 36? (pics included )

oooohbabyiloveyourway · 12/01/2023 14:12

I honestly hate the shape of my face
There's no definition what so ever
I have included 2 pics
First one -my face shape naturally
Second one-my face shape if I stretch the skin and pull upwards
It just looks so much nicer
It's on my mind all the time

Is it a face lift I need or is there a less invasive procedure?
Any help would be great

It doesn't look so bad. Go for a consultation where they'll possibly recommend cheek filler. That will give definition and pull up lower face slightly. I wouldn't bother with a thread lift, costly, painful, minimal results apparently.

I'd say 36 was too young to consider a facelift but people have disagreed with me about that before.

Lilibert456 · 12/01/2023 14:46

Have you nothing else to worry about. If so, you are one lucky woman.

krill · 12/01/2023 14:48

People ask all sorts of similar questions here in Style and Beauty. And that's fine.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 12/01/2023 14:49

I think there's something none of us are happy about. I think you look fine but honestly I absolutely hate my thighs and constantly compare them to other peoples re cellulite so there's always something.

23BetterBeGood · 12/01/2023 14:51

Well of course your skin will look tighter if you pull it back 😂 but honestly, a face lift at 36 seems a bit drastic. I'm a couple of years older than you and I'm starting to feel a bit jowely too, but I'm trying other non invasive things, such as facial massage, sculping with gua sha etc. I inherited my parents full hamster cheeks and whereas it kept me looking young initially, they're now going south for the summer ☹️ The bigger they are, the harder they fall 🤷‍♀️

Seriously though, you don't really have much of a/any problem. Maybe try and focus more on the features that you do like.

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 12/01/2023 14:51

Are you overweight? It's hard to tell from your pictures but it may be that losing weight would eliminate the extra bits you don't like?

23BetterBeGood · 12/01/2023 14:53

@krill , yes, I always find those kind of comments odd on and style and beauty forum.

As if people are supposed to come on S&B talking about struggling with cost of living or their child’s SEN. Like the whole point is to talk S&B! And then people act like they’re frivolous for doing so.

Honestly op I think you look fine in the first one. I don’t think it looks like your face shape is wrong at all.

CuriousMama · 12/01/2023 14:57

No need for the nasty comment. Why post it you can't be helpful?

Op try facial exercises. Have you been to see a beautician? You do look ok to us but it's your opinion that matters.

I'm in my 50s and have inherited good skin tone. But I'm noticing sagginess. I'm just trying to lose some weight and doing facial exercises. And concentrating on the good bits.

Gwdihooooo · 12/01/2023 14:58

You have lovely lips

IDontWantToBeAPie · 12/01/2023 14:59

Babe a face lift won't make you feel better if you hate yourself!

octopusrus · 12/01/2023 14:59

@teaandtoastwithmarmite I am the same, mine is 100x worse than any of the 'before' pictures of any procedures, and I'm 5"3 and 9st so not overweight, run 3 times a week, walk everywhere...very depressing.

OP I think it's easy to pull and poke at your face and see how different it would look (Croydon facelift anyone??) but in reality a facelift is a huge procedure and you're still very young! I honestly can't see a problem, you look great and your skin is fantastic.

Not tried it myself but facial yoga & massage is supposed to be excellent for firming up that area, might be worth a go before anything drastic.

thisfuckinghurts · 12/01/2023 15:00

Op I’m a similar age and I think you look great! If you need a facelift I need one too😂 stop focussing on the details so much, no one will study your face in such detail. Drink plenty of water, exercise, protect yourself from the sun and smile😀

YummyBelicious · 12/01/2023 15:00

I saw an episode of 10years younger where a lady had a small amount of chin filler to combat this. The practitioner said it was because over time your chin and lower face loses volume.
It was incredible and I'll certainly be looking into it when the time comes
Maybe see if you can find similar before and after pics?

GreenTomato67 · 12/01/2023 15:01

You don't need a face-lift! You have a fuller lower face, you could look into buccal fat removal but it's often seen as a short term gain procedure as it's removal makes you look older as you develop normal age related volume loss which usually kicks in late 30s to 40s. Reconstructive surgery to change your facial shape seems a bit drastic but is more common in other countries like South Korea. What about looking into injectable, something to reshape your jaw and chin? To be honest though op you really don't need it.

ladygindiva · 12/01/2023 15:02

You have nice skin and good full lips.

Stravaig · 12/01/2023 15:05

Eat healthy food, drink lots of water, exercise regularly, lose excess weight. Do all that for a year, and only then revisit how your face looks.

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 12/01/2023 15:09

I had Ultherapy on this part of my face about 3 years ago.
It "burns" away excess fat but isn't permanent.
It's rather uncomfortable (not painful) and quite pricey!

SallyWD · 12/01/2023 15:11

I used to feel like you about that area. I used to sit in front of the mirror, pulling the fat up from my jaw and thinking it looked so much better. In the end I just stopped obsessing about it. I'm now 48, thinner than I was and my face has thinned out to due aging anyway. I think my jaw looks fine now! So glad I didn't have surgery!! You look like you have a naturally round face which I think can look lovely. No advice on face lifts, sorry

catandcoffee · 12/01/2023 15:18

Your face and skin look lovely as they are.

bloodyplanes · 12/01/2023 15:32

Filler would get rid of that jowly look and give you a straighter more defined jawline

CuriousMama · 12/01/2023 16:12

catandcoffee · 12/01/2023 15:18

What jowly look?

Thighlengthboots · 12/01/2023 16:17

I think you are way too young for a facelift and that can be fixed with well placed fillers on the cheeks which will lift your entire face. Kybella under the chin can also re-define your jaw line if you are worried about it. The surgeon who did my tummy tuck told me that face lifts are quite brutal and its a long recovery time and he wouldnt recommend them to anyone younger than mid 50s because if you wanted another one later on (they dont last forever) it would make your face start to look really unnatural and stretched/pulled.

Xrays · 12/01/2023 16:30

I thought about doing the same thing at the same age. But opted not and now aged 42 I think if I had done it I would have regretted it as I’m now even more saggy around that area and I’m not sure that surgery would have prevented that, so I would have spent the money for nothing if that makes sense?

If you’re going to have a face lift I actually think it’s better to wait until you’re late 40s or even early 50s as then most of the sagging is done. People just tend to get more wrinkly after that! Mid 30s is quite young and your face will change a lot from now till early 40s.

Might be better to get fillers if it really bothers you. You could get fillers around the chin either side and that might plump things up a bit. But you don’t really need that…!

BunchHarman · 12/01/2023 17:02

Just FYI, filler absolutely cannot ‘lift’ any part of the face.
