Face lift at 36? (pics included )

oooohbabyiloveyourway · 12/01/2023 14:12

I honestly hate the shape of my face
There's no definition what so ever
I have included 2 pics
First one -my face shape naturally
Second one-my face shape if I stretch the skin and pull upwards
It just looks so much nicer
It's on my mind all the time

Is it a face lift I need or is there a less invasive procedure?
Any help would be great

Follow Dr Steve Harris on Insta (drharrisclinic) to understand how fillers work. And if you do go down that road, do not go to see some beautician who’s done a day’s course on dermal fillers. See a doctor who understands facial anatomy, uses ultrasound to avoid facial arteries and is realistic about results.

That said, you don’t need a facelift in my opinion.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/01/2023 18:14

You have lovely skin and full lips, I bet you're knockout when you smile.

Wagsandclaws · 12/01/2023 18:30

Sorry I haven't rtft but I had a neck and lower facelift at 49.

I lost 6 stone in my late 40's and my neck sagged badly along with volume loss in my face so it was the only option for me.

My surgeon often says to women come back after the menopause as that's when you will see the best benefit. I think you are too young and I'm fairly sure he would offer other solutions to you.

Perhaps your ( very faint ) marionette lines could be addressed to give you a slightly smoother look - in the after photo that looks like what you are going for.

You look like you are very pretty from what I can see of your face, 36 is very young to be considering a facelift.

That's not to say that your concerned are not valid, they are if you feel that would make you happier with your face. Go for a consultation with a medical professional ( dr, nurse or dentist ) and be sure that they are 'save face' members as you know that they will be experienced if they are accredited to them.

Just to add buccal fat removal in your cheeks can create hollowness and make you look faint post 50. Check out Alice hart Davies blog as she has lots of info on this. I'd rather have fuller cheeks tbh.

Good luck op, I hope you can resolve this and feel better about your looks.

Agree with whoever said if you are overweight at all, lose weight first, and/or take up jogging, v fit people usually have much "tighter" faces. I notice my jawline way more defined when I'm slimmer and fitter.

schmalex · 12/01/2023 19:37

Agree with what other posters have said - see if losing weight helps and then some filler on your cheekbones from a good practitioner.

BunchHarman · 12/01/2023 17:02

Just FYI, filler absolutely cannot ‘lift’ any part of the face.

Visually it absolutely can. If you have a longish face and add volume to the cheeks it makes your face APPEAR more balanced and youthful because typically younger people have more volume in their cheeks so VISUALLY it lifts your appearance. Thats what I meant, VISUALLY not physically. FFS

OxPeg · 12/01/2023 23:27

OP you look fine - I honestly can’t see the problem. My view is that the vast majority of celebs look utterly weird due to surgery/fillers and they’re the ones with access to the best practitioners! It’s not a road I’d go down personally, especially at your tender age.

QueenSmartypants · 12/01/2023 23:34

Have a look at face yoga, can achieve great results - try facegym

QueenSmartypants · 12/01/2023 23:35

But you don't have anything to worry about btw:)

IneedanewTV · 12/01/2023 23:39

You have a fabulous mouth. Embrace that and worry less about other areas. Wait until you get much older - absolutely everything drops - including knees - who knew there were old ladies knees!!

Freedom2023 · 12/01/2023 23:39

Google the 8 point face lift. Its tiny bits of filler placed in specific areas to lift the whole face.

AnnieSnap · 13/01/2023 00:46

That’s just the shape of your face. I wouldn’t waste money on surgery, even if you can get a reputable surgeon to do anything. Do you have low self esteem?

Appleblum · 13/01/2023 01:04

Agree with other posters that you're too young for a face-lift. I'm not against these procedures, but if you're resorting to a face lift now, what would you do when you reach your 50s?

To tighten up the jawline area you could look into Ultherapy, Hifu, or Sofwave. These are non invasive and would be the ones my doctor would recommend.

Time40 · 13/01/2023 01:39

Op try facial exercises

No, don't. They're a load of crap, and don't do anything.

Geometricaesthetic · 13/01/2023 02:13

I honestly can’t work out the problem! You have a lovely shaped mouth op!
Of course we all look wonderful if we stretch our skin back. That doesn’t mean we should do it artificially as it’s an unrealistic to maintain.

I don’t know how to say this without sounding patronising but I don’t think it’s sensible to hyper-focus on one area of your physique like this unless you think one feature is really massively out-sized or something.

You are young yet and have time to focus on sustainable regular daily habits like exercise and eating healthy foods to keep your figure slim and healthy which will ultimately affect your overall appearance much more profoundly in the years to come than one artificial tweak here and there.

Geometricaesthetic · 13/01/2023 02:16

Sorry. Can I amend my post to put strong and healthy in there which is more appropriate than slim and healthy.

Howtosolveit · 23/12/2023 13:07

You don't need a facelift OP. You look great. I think you should play to your strengths instead of fixating on something most people on this thread can't really see an issue with. If I were you I would get your colours done and wear a fab bright lipstick to show off your amazing lips. Then do something that lifts your spirits and builds your confidence, like learning a new skill or going on a trip.

GettingStuffed · 23/12/2023 13:20

I watched a when plastic ( cosmetic surgery) goes wrong yesterday some people were stuck with permanent disfigurement

norma1980 · 23/12/2023 15:34

I think you've a lovely shaped face and amazing skin if that helps.

EtiennePalmiere · 23/12/2023 16:28

Chin lipo at most !! I wouldn't mind the same lol. You do have good skin and.lips, remember our perceived flaws are usually not visible to others.

TwilightSkies · 23/12/2023 16:31

Stop looking in the mirror so much. Focus your energy on positive things!

lemonchiffonpie · 24/12/2023 01:06

Is it a face lift I need or is there a less invasive procedure?

You need an attitude adjustment. That is a facial expression of chronic discontent. An attitude adjustment is free. In the short term, crack a smile.

Autumnleavefall · 24/12/2023 01:10

I had brow botox and hadn't considered it before I had a consultation, I just knew I wanted something doing as I was so unhappy with my appearance. Its given me so much confidence, you don't need anything doing but I'd find a decent suitably qualified and experienced processional and see what they say.
