Hello has anyone ever bought from Roman Originals and can advise on quality etc? Thanks

Yes and it’s nice, and the sizing is true.

Alleycat12 · 28/12/2022 20:41

Great, thanks for your reply

Well I should thank you as there’s a sweater I’ve had my eye on and now reduced ……😀

upfucked · 28/12/2022 20:46

I’ve found it mixed. Some things great and others not. I found some things look old ladyish when they arrive. I think their sizing is generous. I’m 18 in M and S and 16 at Roman. If you order online delivery is often free and they charge a £3 flat rate for returns.

Love RO clothes! We used to have a local shop that sold them but I think it’s mainly online now.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 28/12/2022 21:01

I've bought dresses from there and they've been fine and I've had compliments. Can't comment on jumpers but I would probably buy one.

Alleycat12 · 28/12/2022 21:21

Thanks everyone

It’s Roman now they dropped the originals bit and closed the high street shops - at least I’ve not seen one for years, they also used to be popular in the shopping village locations, the dresses are nice, my sister has a few of the wrap ones.

TwoMonthsOff · 28/12/2022 21:24

@Alleycat12 you’re welcome
maybe come back presently and let us know how you found it…👚👗

Cocolapew · 28/12/2022 21:26

Next online sell some of their stuff, free delivery and returns through the shop.
I have a couple of jumpers and they lasted well.

itsnotmeitisactuallyyou · 28/12/2022 21:26

ive just sent back a whole lot of stuff, three knitted dresses that were too big and shapeless,a coat that had a faulty zip,and two dresses that were size 10 arms in a size 14 dress, not buying from here again was my first and last time

Hoppinggreen · 28/12/2022 21:27

A friend mentioned them to me but I didn’t think the clothes were my thing.
There is one near me (may be an outlet but certainly they are still on the high street) and there was a dress in the window for. £20 that I liked and teen DD approved of too.
I have had loads of compliments on it, it was £20 so the quality is as expected but I’m happy with it .
I have to say I wouldn’t have worn around 90% of the stuff in there though

That’s disappointing

ZaZathecat · 28/12/2022 21:28

There's still a Roman shop near me. I don't think the choice is as nice as online though.

Redebs · 28/12/2022 21:30

Some of it is quite nice, but there's a lot of polyester, which I detest

TwoMonthsOff · 28/12/2022 21:30

I am corrected, there are 12 physical shops / concessions in UK still…..none near me though

User0610134057 · 28/12/2022 21:31

I’ve had a couple of good fit and flare dresses from there I get compliments on, I don’t think they’re super trendy (I’m early 40s, size 16/18) but that shape suits me and you can’t get it in that many places. Prices are good and stuff has washed well, it annoys me that returns are not free as I’m in between sizes!

CharlotteStreetW1 · 28/12/2022 21:34

I've bought a couple of tops, one of which I really love (the other I should probably have returned), but they also sell slim fit cropped trousers which I practically live in for work in the summer. Very good value.

I don’t understand why they use so much polyester when a lot of their buyers will be menopausal, and occasionally sweaty !

OrpingtonWings · 28/12/2022 22:05

I’ve got some lovely things from there. The items I’ve got really suit my body type - skinny arms and legs with a medium sized bust and a lot of weight/bloating on tummy with digestive medical issues.

TwoMonthsOff · 28/12/2022 22:53

hard to avoid the polyester these days 😓

TwoMonthsOff · 28/12/2022 22:54

many of the dresses are jersey knit polyester/lycra blend though so not like that hard scrunchy scratchy polyester

FedUpWithEverything123 · 28/12/2022 22:56

I've only had good experiences shopping with Roman. Nice clothing

NotMeNoNo · 28/12/2022 22:56

It's about what you would expect for the price. Also one of very few sites where you can still buy shorter dresses/fitted shapes rather than the flouncy prairie dresses.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 28/12/2022 22:58

I find it hit and miss - some bright colours & scary patterns.....but some nice stuff. I have a lovely dress & jumper from there.
I think the sizing is quite big.
