Avoid Trinny London - disappointed in the product and online experience

  1. Next day delivery took 3 days.
  2. I bought two eye shadows and one lip pot with their smart match. The colours are so different in real life comparing to the website, I thought I received the wrong order. The pots are cheap and feel plasticy. Does not match the price at all,
  3. Return and customer service experience are painful. Royal mail (link provided on TL's website) does not accept TL's order number. So I took the screenshot and emailed TL's support team to seek further advice, but only been told to "enter the order number". They clearly did not read the email at all.

That is I do love Trinny's insta posts and her online persona. Her clothes advice are very practical. But her products - such a disappointment.

Royal mail is slow at the moment. Strikes and Xmas shopping and all that.

Nearly spent a fortune on there a while back. Actually when you see her put the make up on herself it doesn't always look that good- she's very lucky with her bone structure and confidence.

You had a lucky escape.

Anytime you buy online there’s a problem with the colours on screen.
I’ve got several TL products and I love them. The colours are great and the quality is excellent. I found the match2me to work really well. The stacking pots are meant to be light for travel.
I understand you’re annoyed with the difficulty making a return but dismissing the whole brand is over the top.

VioletPickles · 25/11/2022 05:09

Sorry you’ve had trouble with returns, but I love Trinny London products, last ages, great coverage, neat little pots. I always recommend and use the bff serum too

SD1978 · 25/11/2022 05:12

Personally- love them- in australia and they have a pop up shop- they were so helpful and the makeup was great- cream definitely is the way forward for me!! BFF range for basics is really nice. But makeup is such a personal thing- I'd find it tough working out from a website what I wanted- that's why I so pleased to do it in person- too much money to spend if I was disappointed

Joshanddonna · 25/11/2022 05:45

I really like the eye shadows

BatshitCrazyWoman · 25/11/2022 05:53

I didn't like the texture of the products, it didn't suit my skin at all. Sort of greasy. The BFF was the worst! And all the pots snapped and broke really quickly (and I wasn't carrying the stuff around with me). It all ended up in the bin and was an expensive mistake.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/11/2022 06:01

I love one of her lipsticks, the best colour I’ve ever had from anywhere.

LittleBearPad · 25/11/2022 06:04

I think it’s great. Given there are postage strikes complaining about delivery is a bit much.

Needaholidaypronto · 25/11/2022 06:43

I’ve never had an issue . Also never bought any other make up since I discovered it. Total game changer for me. Love it.

ShadowoftheFall · 25/11/2022 06:49

I have my third tube of bff serum and bought eyeshadow and blushers. I’ve been very pleased, the creamy texture suits my skin, and gives a subtle, natural-but-enhanced look. I like being able to take the little pots with me easily. The only mis-step was the miracle blur, which on me just went claggy and then disappeared in about ten minutes. Bit unfair to criticise them on here for your experience.

Yes I think 3 days is fair enough given all the strikes

Mercurial123 · 25/11/2022 07:01

I ordered when it first came out. Colour match didn't work for me. The cheek to lip product was so drying and the colour recommended was not flattering. The eyeshadow was good but not great.

Cluckycluck · 25/11/2022 07:13

At this time of year you need to make allowances for delays. All couriers are busy and obviously the Royal Mail strikes have exasperated the issue.

I've returned products to Trinny a couple of times now (due to my poor colour choice) and never had an issue. I found the returns process easy. I think the fact that they take returns is amazing as usually you can't return makeup if it has been opened and used.

Bar one product I've loved everything I've tried and have repurchased a few things.

TheOGCCL · 25/11/2022 08:43

I’m not convinced by this line, especially at the prices. Like PP found the lip to cheek very dry so it dragged across the cheek and lip and was hard to blend. There are better products of this type out there imo. The eyeshadow lasted about five minutes on me. But I know there are lots of fans so each to their own!

LauraIAm · 25/11/2022 11:40

I love Trinny! The taupey eyeshadow is my all time fave!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 25/11/2022 11:50

The reviews aren't great and I think they're really expensive for what I used to get when I was 14 by Constance Carrol with my pocket money! I don't think it looks great on Trinny herself so it'll look awful on me!

Thank you for the reply.

I buy other make ups online all the time, and always give some room for them not being 100% same, but Trinny's color match is shockingly bad, they look like a completed different products.

Given her product line is almost all online and not cheap. It is more important to get the colour match right and make the return process more professional - I am not ask for extra customer service, just expecting the standard return process.

This is my personal experience, and I wanted to like the products. Writing this down in case other people are charmed by her make up videos like I did (they are really good) but hesitated to purchase.

Completely agree OP. I wwas sediced by all the online love, the reality was that they are cheap products in cheap packaging. All the more lovely profit for Trinny!

Mine went in the bin after a few aeeks of trying to like them.

Blueskiesunshine · 25/11/2022 13:33

Oops apologies for spelling, arthritis fingers here!

Rainallnight · 25/11/2022 13:37

I love Trinny London. Haven’t had an issue with online service.

Exactly that. Trinny is a marketing genius, which is good for her. But the product and the marketing shouldn't be too far off from each other.

I have to say that I've been very happy with what I've bought from TL, and the pots have lasted really well in travel. I think the colour match works pretty well, or at least as well as these things ever can

Joshanddonna · 25/11/2022 15:02

My Trinny pots have lasted really well. My Clinique palettes have lost their silver and look decidedly sad for themselves.
