I’ve always loved putting an outfit together, I’ve got a better awareness as I’ve got older of clothes that suits my body shape, colouring and style. I like to think I polish up well and love dressing up especially over the festive season. I am however absolutely fed up shopping (online) for beautiful going out clothes that aren’t cheap & tacky vs old fashioned/boring/safe. I’m trying to spend money and there is nothing that I love! Not sure if it’s my age (mid forties) but feel there’s nothing that appeals to women like me.
I’ve got more disposable income than my twenties, happy to spend, usually love REISS. Fond of a one shoulder, no prints/patterns or black tops- metallics/ red suit me. I’m size 8/10 5’8”. Any suggestions for good party wear that I’ll fall in love with?

Thanks @IMissVino for the suggestions. The jumpsuit looks lovely but jumpsuits just not my thing (mainly due to my insanely small bladder! 😬🙈)
The Plisse dress isn’t my shade ( too yellow) and not loving it generally.
Part of the problem is I know what I like/ what suits me and shops just don’t seem to sell what I like.

I think that you might need to be a tad more specific about what you want if you’re going to get useful suggestions, though. Perhaps photos or links to a few examples (possibly similar to stuff you already own) of what you would consider beautiful party clothes?

Try Scandi clothing brands like Part Two. Great designs & quality. There’s a website that sells a few different ones, can’t remember the name... I know what you mean though, I’d like something exciting to wear! Not the usual “lady” party sparkles... Did see a nice velvet jacket in M&S, though. Safe, but nice!

I like hush. They have some very nice shoes bag dress combos. I have bought a green velvet jumpsuit gold platform sandals and matching bag.

I liked the sequin black midi dress with silver bag and black platform sandals.

There's also a nice bright blue velvet dress but I don't like the deep v neck.

Mint velvet have some lovely party type stuff. There was a gorgeous one shoulder velvet top. I've just got a couple of very simple black cap sleeve tops to dress up or down.

Acne Studios, Bimba y Lola, Ganni … All usually have slightly less predictable dresses.

@IMissVino you’re right, I need to be more specific. I know what suits me so do have self imposed rules to help weed out stuff I just know won’t work. Will add some pics of stuff I like but hopefully covered off in list below.
Likes -
high neck, halter, one shoulder, draped, asymmetric, sleeveless or elbow/ long length. No pattern, absolutely no black or dark on top half but will do burgundy, teal, forest green in festive season. Really suit red, Metallics, coral, pink.
I’m leggy so although can rock a mini dress 😬 I would be more comfortable with a few inches above knee/knee length than butt grazing. quite often will end up in my Spanx moto leggings with a top at nights out if can’t find anything else.

@Pinkcadillac they’re definitely on the right track, will have a trawl through warehouse now, I forgot about there!

@haribonoyoudont I’ve not before, is it reliable? There’s a few options I like for tops, the dresses I like are all north of 500 quid unfortunately.
