I'm actually tempted by H&B at £35... Never fancied it before but I quite like the look of the contents this year.

I also ordered my JL calendar on the launch day and am now annoyed that I am just a few days off being able to claim back the difference.
Those who emailed them about this issue, which section did you select in the drop down for reasons for contacting them? There doesn’t seem to be anything that covers price queries.

I've just ordered the H&B, in case the M&S doesn't come back into stock at my local branch (they told me they expected another delivery towards the end of the month). I sent the H&B to D1 at university last year and she really liked it. This year I'll mostly use it (and the M&S if I get it) for stocking fillers for D1 and D2, plus a few treats for me.

You pay a premium for buying a calendar early and the guarantee that you'll get it. It's a gamble to leave it later and hope to get it cheaper. I think it's really unfair to blame the retailers (and ridiculous to call John Lewis 'deceitful') for reducing the price for Black Friday. JL calendars have been similarly reduced in previous years. They are under no obligation to offer price promise refunds or giftcards.

I also sent the Degusta box to D1 last year as she was in a houseshare. Don't think I'll order that one for home, although I've just seen it with money off. I might send her a tea one - she loves Bird and Blend, but their calendar is £38 which seems quite expensive.

I really liked the JL box @RosettaStormer. Just goes to show we are all different! The Elemis eye cream is worth £72 I think. I like the perfumes. They are something I’d never buy myself. I have to say I don’t think it’s worth the £190 they claimed but as a free gift I liked it.

I'm happy for those who are getting a bargain, but I feel these price drops are going to backfire on the brands as people just won't buy full price next year, plus I think it devalues the product. I paid full price for JL on the day of release, so can't claim a price drop refund (and also missed out on the box).

I will be waiting until November to buy one next year. They must be finding them hard to shift as the only ones at sold out quick are No7 and M&S.

Ah! I didn't know the eye cream was so expensive, so that makes me feel better. My lipstick was dried out and I tried one of the perfumes , wasn't keen.

Sold! I've been eyeing it up for days so I'm happy to purchase at that price. Just looked and my cashback from LiB is payable so I got £6 back from that which is a nice bonus.

Still fancy the Sephora but I had three last year and honestly I was getting fed up by Christmas. Maybe if there's a hefty discount. I might save H&B for Jadvent too as the products are more functional, less Christmassy.

I agree with PP tbh that you pay a premium when buying early to ensure you get a calendar. In previous years there weren't often discounts, even right up to December, so this is pretty unusual. Unfortunately I think the beauty calendars have peaked and next year we might not have so many to choose from.

I would assume - not definite - that it would be ok but don't do them both at the same time or quickly after the other as they have to 'set your account up' if you get me. I'd give it an hour or so until the subscription is showing in your account until you buy the advent :)

H&B is going to be my jadvent. Last year I opened my jadvent in a one go. I can't even remember what calendar it was but it was heavily discounted that I got from Xmas sales.

I have just made the same mistake.😭 It's an unreal calendar and I really want to try the Creed scent!

I'm afraid that I failed to resist - my Harrods calendar arrived today!

However, I've noticed that my Harrods calendar has two drawer 21s and no drawer 18!

Seems like Harrods got these out in a massive rush! Not exactly the luxury experience that you would expect 🙄

I haven't seen that happen before....though I did read a comment on the video that people have been missing the conditioner from the calendar.

I'm not entirely sure I will resist...four of the products that I LOVE make up the price of the calendar alone and the others look pretty enticing!

Yes my conditioner is missing too. They are going to have a customer service nightmare on their hands!

Problems aside, it is an excellent calendar. The best this year I think.

Any discount codes for Harrods?

It’s very annoying that we are put in the position of checking calendars before we even start. I quickly ran upstairs and checked mine, without looking at contents..just by feel, no empty draws but who knows if there are duplicate products 🤷‍♀️
Hopefully Harrods customer service will be better than some of the others!
