Recommend a high street body moisturiser?

Looking for a good body moisturiser that sinks in and leaves my skin velvety rather than greasy. Like that feeling when you've just shaved your legs.

I bought a tube of Dove pro-age and it's left a film on my skin which isn't nice under clothes and makes my skin feel tacky rather than soft. I hate throwing things out so I'm sure I'll end up keeping it in a drawer and using it once in a blue moon for the next few years until it's gone. To save me from a drawer full of half used cosmetics, which one would you recommend? My skin is mostly average, a little dry in patches but never tight or painfully dry.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost body lotion is about £4 and bloody fantastic. As good as my Dermalogica body lotion which is 8x the price.

Jergens

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter body lotion

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 10/10/2022 18:03

Rituals is nice

PAFMO · 10/10/2022 18:06

Neutrogena intensive. Norwegian formula one.
Picked one up in Tesco for £4.99 a couple of years ago, will never change to anything else. It's amazing, cheap, sinks in straightaway yet moisturises for days. Smells fresh. My holy grail.

Superdrugs Mousse Vit E
really light , sinks in well

Gr33ngr33ngr4ss · 10/10/2022 18:14

Not high St per se but Ameliorate is incredible

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 10/10/2022 18:14

Try some body oil.

if you use it on damp
skin it sinks right in. I find that most body creams sit on the skin and feel waxy, and some lotions make you feel sweaty.
oils are perfect. Just don’t use too much and always on damp skin

HouseHelp23 · 10/10/2022 19:02

Aveeno is the best I've tried

PeloFondo · 10/10/2022 19:15

Neutrogena spray on one

HyggeLykke · 10/10/2022 19:23

Another vote for Neutrogena here, but i use the tub of Deep Moisture, skin feels silky, no greasiness and I think it smellls divine

KirstenBlest · 10/10/2022 19:29

I'm currently using a Faith in Nature one. I got it in a gift pack, and really didn't fancy using it, but it's lovely.

There's a citrus Weleda one I fancy trying too.

Vaseline Intensive Care is my go to. The one in the yellow bottle.

This Nivea one is lovely.

Palmer's cocoa butter

Aworldofmyown · 10/10/2022 20:52

I love Nivea Q10

Echobelly · 10/10/2022 20:53

I find Aveeno and Nivea lotions to be very good, and I have very dry, sensitive skin

YourWinter · 10/10/2022 20:54

Aveeno creamy oil. Not at all greasy, despite the name. I like that it has a pump, but mainly I like that it just works so well. Very mild almond scent. Regularly 1/3 off so I stock up!

Pandorapitstop · 10/10/2022 20:50

Palmer's cocoa butter

It's so good for the skin but the smell Envy

Laquila · 10/10/2022 20:55

IMHO the best moisturiser is the one you'll actually use. I have form for buying pricey moisturisers and then being cross when they don't magically transform my skin after three applications in six weeks. Consistency is key! At the moment I use CeraVe body lotion which isn't super rich but is very easy to rub in, so I'm more likely to use it.

YourWinter · 10/10/2022 20:57

I find the Vaseline Intensive Care greasy, Nivea lotions too light but the cream is too heavy, I really dislike the smell of Palmers Cocoa Butter, and dislike the price of anything more expensive than Aveeno!

urgen · 10/10/2022 21:07

That Palmers smell is vile… they do a unperfumed one but maybe it’s just me. I can still smell it!

2ManyPjs · 10/10/2022 21:14

Nivea Q10.

ACatCalledPuss · 10/10/2022 21:39

I like the soap and glory body lotions. They come in pump bottles so easy to apply.
