I'm looking for a 'nude' lipstick...

I want a lipstick, but a nice creamy/satin one, not matte or anything described as 'long wearing' as I have dry lips.

Tomorrow I'll be in a big posh department store with every brand imaginable! I usually shop online and don't have a dept. store near me so this is a once-off for me and I thought it would be an ideal time to get a new lipstick as it's not the sort of thing you can buy online.

So, hit me with your recommendations please. Of course I'll look at CT Pillowtalk, but interested to hear if there are others that might work. Thank you Smile

I love nude by Bobbi Brown - it’s pushing it to describe it as actually a nude but it’s a lovely colour.

Housewife2010 · 03/10/2022 14:27

I don't like Pillowtalk. I repeat buy Laura Mercier in Baby Lips and Bare Lips. Have a look at those. They are moisturising and very comfortable. I have dark hair and NC20 skin. I find both shades very flattering.

Faux and Pillow Talk I've bought and used in the past but don't use now.

Blondeissimo · 03/10/2022 14:47

MAC Faux is one of the best I've found.

STEP AWAY FROM THE PILLOW TALK

CHANEL boy

@xogossipgirlxo no it’s different, but I do like that as well as I have that one too! I prefer 630, but personal preference and all that! I’ll post a pic to show the difference.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 03/10/2022 15:34

Thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to browsing all these recommendations tomorrow!

These are the L’Oréal ones.
they look Very similar, but subtle differences when worn.

Just a heads up OP - I know you said you're trying in person. I made the mistake of buying online a Dior lip pencil in shade 474 (not nude) - it's vile...

SummaLuvin · 03/10/2022 18:40

NARS Audacious range is lovely has a few nudes, I love Barbara but Anita is a great nude for some,

Whiffle77 · 03/10/2022 19:27

I really recommend Lisa Eldridge lipsticks, the best I have found - long lasting and don't dry out lips.

Quite pricey tho and don't really have sales. Also online only!

I think she has a long running popup in convent garden, if you can get to London

Bobbi brown

EvilRingahBitch · 03/10/2022 19:44

Placemarking because I don't have a perfect nude at the moment. I like the texture of L'Oréal colour riche but haven't got the right shade. I'm hitting the West End at the weekend and will try all your other suggestions as well.

CentaureaCyanus · 03/10/2022 19:52

I like Chanel nude lipsticks best. I've never had a bad one, they always seem to be the perfect colour and formulation.

MrsMigginsCat · 03/10/2022 19:53

I've just bought Swag by Bare Minerals. It is matte, but is not drying at all.

Jaffacats · 03/10/2022 19:57

Chanel rouge allure autumn 22 - ‘a demi mot’ - if I had the ££ I’d buy this.
Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy - ‘intense nude’ - a rich pink/brown

Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect is the only nude colour I can wear. Depends on your skin tone as to what will suit you though

FluffyFluffMonster · 03/10/2022 22:15

I like this one by Mac. It isn't drying at all.

I recently discovered this one by Mac called “Thanks it’s Mac”. It’s from their lustre range so not drying at all and a lovely nude.

I've recently gone back to a favourite range from 20+ years ago - Clinique Dramatically Different. Some nice nudes, including 01 Barely

JustBkind · 03/10/2022 22:45

Clinique chubby stick moisturising lip colour balm - 09 - heaping Hazelnut. Gorgeous nude colour and soft and gentle on the lips.

Another vote for Bobbi Brown's Nude, though buggered if I can see it as such.

I love it so much that when lockdown in Melbourne was on the cards in 2020, I went straight out and bought two. Didn't want to face the apocalypse with crap lips. Grin

As it turned out, I used it a lot as I was teaching remotely, almost entirely on camera.

Amortentia · 04/10/2022 01:00

I’m very pale with neutral undertones and lots of popular nude shades tend to look wrong on me. The most wearable one I found so far is Dior Nude 100, the same shade comes in loads of formulas. I prefer the Matt version because it lasts ages but there all sorts of formulas for this shade.
