Beautiful, beautiful jewellery

I love these designs. But not exactly affordable! I used to love Past Times as they had lovely jewellery in the style of different eras, I think Tudor was a firm favourite.

Any retailers that do more (ahem!) affordable versions that anyone has come across?

I love the Elizabeth Gage Papillon earrings - at over £18,000 I shall not be purchasing .
I loved Past Times jewellery too back in the day.
Museum shops often do copies of antique jewellery.
The royalcollectionshop.co.uk do some lovely pieces as did Jon Richard at Debenhams- not sure if it's still available.

LadyEloise1 · 29/09/2022 20:25

Jon Richard appears to be available from Next.

Mouthfulofquiz · 29/09/2022 20:26

Id forgotten about Past Times!!! That was one of my absolute favourite shops.

faretheewell · 30/09/2022 13:46

Thanks, I'll enjoy looking through those collections!🙂

@faretheewell beautiful items, almost a vintage feel to them. Maybe have a look at Emma chapman.

Talipesmum · 30/09/2022 13:57

Lovely earrings but, as you say, a bit too close to actual royalty budget!

Etsy are brilliant for this sort of thing - I’ve bookmarked a few things that are along similar lines in the past:

Very tempted by this seller:

I’ve had a few things from this seller before - they’re lovely. These also come in black onyx

And this seller looks good - a bit like a French Past Times:

@confused16, ooh some lovely things there. Quite pricey, though. There seems to be a lot of gold vermeil and plate around at the moment. God must be expensive! I think I'll watch out for sales!!!😁

@Talipesmum, love those Etsy things! Very reasonable too!🙂

One of my other favourite sites is this one:

www.berganza.com/

These are Roman! Makes me think when I look at fine jewellery with fine jewellery prices! 😁

For anyone who loved Past Times...

They even have a paper catalogue you can order!

faretheewell · 30/09/2022 14:13

Gold must be expensive! Bit of an error there!!!

The V&A online museum shop has beautiful jewellery at reasonable prices.

OldTinHat · 30/09/2022 15:12

HOW MUCH??!!!!!! *thud...

stayathomegardener · 30/09/2022 15:44

They seem wildly overpriced for what they are when compared to something like Boodles or an independent jewellers.

There's a fantastic shop in Brightons Lanes that design to order, I forget the name.

faretheewell · 30/09/2022 18:29

@OldTinHat, I know! I'd been looking at adverts in Country Life!(I get it free on my library app) 😂 Take a gander at these watches!

www.buccellati.com/en_gb/watches/watches-for/for-her.html

(The most expensive ones don't even show the prices!😉)

I just like looking at the different designs though. I get a lot of my jewellery from a local market stall which sells silver with semi precious stones at much more reasonable prices! (£20 for earrings)

But then you couldn't wear this just going to shops...

Bees Jewellery is much more affordable, I've got a few necklaces and bangles from there.

Also take a look at Ottoman Hands: www.ottomanhands.com/collections/earrings

faretheewell · 30/09/2022 21:12

@haribonoyoudont, just looking now. These:

www.ottomanhands.com/products/lilis-white-chalcedony-and-labradorite-drop-earrings

Pretty much dupes of some of the Elizabeth Gage ones!😃

If it is not necessarily real gold pieces that you are after, try search for Iranian jewellery- there would be small independent online shops bringing stuff to the UK for resale.
I can't find it anymore, but I used one to buy herbs and spices from in the past.
I'll post a link if I get somewhere with my search.
I suspect similar styles from other countries imports are available.

WellTidy · 30/09/2022 21:29

Pia has lovely jewellery. Also lots of bags, scarves etc, but plenty of jewellery.

Hoppinggreen · 30/09/2022 21:31

I like Monica Vinader

SiobhanSharpe · 30/09/2022 21:33

I like quite a few things on here, they're a bit different and more in my price range!
