Beauty advent 22 part 2 (massive spoilers)

I don't know the etiquette of starting a runover of someone else's thread. I hope this is OK.

Reminder advent22 gives a hand-wash and handcream free gift on space nk.

I bought it, but now I have alight regret. I should have held out to see what harrods had.

The CEO cream wasn't 5oz as had been trailed on many calendar sites, but 0.5oz, 15ml. 5oz would have been a ridiculous size so that makes sense.

I'd like that too @polmnlj - I love Mugler. They could pop in mini hair mists, shower gels, soaps and I'd be in heaven!
There are enough flanker perfumes surely to be able to do that. My all time fave was Angel Violet, followed by Angel Sucree.

BrokeAsABone · 18/10/2022 16:51

The Fragrance Shop calendar looks a bit rubbish....watched a YouTube vid on it last night. Lots of perfume from a brand called Desquared?? Never heard of them. Quite a lot of old perfumes instead of newer releases.

Giftwithpurchase · 18/10/2022 16:52

I cannot bare the thought of any products going unused so do my best to sell those I won't use on eBay or Vinted often really low prices just so they'll go to a good home! Last year I was so overwhelmed by my stash I sold off so much this way. Now I'm have a much more manageable stash but will still sell anything from the JL advent I won't use (have completely forgotten the contents are so no idea what that will be!)

BrokeAsABone · 18/10/2022 17:07

I think the only problem is when people snap up calendars with the aim of selling them on at inflated prices, like the Harrods fragrance calendar, so that fans can't get hold of them. But selling off items you don't want is grand! I'd do it if I could be bothered and if I didn't have issues with hoarding toiletries and feeling I need a stash (grew up in poverty and hadn't a single hygiene or beauty product and spent my teenage years smelly and feeling dirty, so now I feel I need them as a protection thing).

PomRuns · 18/10/2022 20:40

@BrokeAsABone enjoy your lovely things now 💐

Imissmoominmama · 18/10/2022 21:14

I give bits of mine away as presents. I’ve made two little hampers of stuff from the beauty drop boxes and the advent calendar, along with nice chocolate, for my nieces.

I keep lots of it too! 😁

BrokeAsABone · 18/10/2022 21:41

@PomRuns thank you so, so much...I do. They bring me so much to enjoy.❤️

Hampers are a lovely idea.

No7 advent calendar ordered 😊 (the cheaper one), I know I'll like and use everything in it so it's a really good bargain for me.

Motnight · 18/10/2022 22:11

The Revolution Advent Calendar is currently half price at Superdrug. Looks great for a teenager.

Very late to this party but have read everyone's comments. I had bought my DD the F&M and Space NK one in previous years which she's loved - but this year I've gone rogue and bought the Holland &Barrett for £55 and the 12 days of Christmas Charlotte Tilbury which with the newbie discount came to £125 (from £157 I think). Both are amazing and hopefully she'll love it all.

LizzieMacQueen · 19/10/2022 09:40

Has anyone else been offered £20 of the CB AC ? Because i ordered one last year apparently.

So maybe not flying off the shelves as predicted.

I finally fell into temptation last night and ordered it with £20 off and £10 rewards. Next day delivery. Got a message this morning, delay with the despatch so puzzled… do they have them in stock?

Giftwithpurchase · 19/10/2022 12:11

@LizzieMacQueen I also received this - still not tempted.. it's just not for me this year. Still a fab one tho for those who've ordered it

Was the charlotte tilbury direct from CT or from another site?

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 19/10/2022 15:33

Have also been considering CB… can’t believe it’s still in stock WEEKS after launch!

clary · 19/10/2022 18:36

Picked up my replacement JL AC today - the whole calendar for just ONE CANDLE. I suggested to the nice lady in CS that they just send me the candle (and I would bin the chipped one) but she said they couldn't do that. Bet they wish they had had a stock of spare candles as they must have had to replace a few.

Meanwhile my original JL AC - wonder what happens to that? Do they sell it as damaged stock for less money?

clary · 19/10/2022 18:37

PS Much to DD's dismay (we were in the Co-op for the pick-up) I insisted on opening the calendar to check the candle (the AC is in a number of layers/packages) but phew it is OK this time.

redredwineub40 · 19/10/2022 19:01

It's not efficient given how prone candles are to breaking - can only hope AC's minus one candle are available to JL employees for a good price!

Apologies if someone else linked this and I missed it but Sephora has two own brand calendars, one for 69, one for 44.

So a better price for most of us, and ALL the products will be new for most of us.

They look good @Zeeza hadn’t spotted them myself. The cult beauty Christmas edit waitlists are open, I found out about them on these messages. Quite fancy the luxury one but something to like in most of them

Twinsandsome · 20/10/2022 09:06

Going to ask this here and the liberty BD thread as I can’t remember which it was discussed on.

liberty have the Oto cbd star with the black and white oils I think is it white for night black for morning, they are only 3.5ml each, do you reckon that would be enough for
me to try them out for a few nights to see if they work for me? Or am I better investing in just the full size of the sleep one?

any advice appreciated x

KimmySchmitt · 20/10/2022 09:53

@CountryCob I fancy the fragrance edit. I can't see the size of the Jo Loves anywhere though, for the rest it lists if they're full size or travel size but it doesn't say for that candle. If it's full size I'd definitely get it but from the photo it looks a bit smaller? Hard to tell though

Zeeza · 20/10/2022 10:26

It's the sephora edits that are making me drool. icangwp.com/2022/10/19/sephora-uk-website-10-new-sephora-favorites-holiday-2022/

And I quite like the latest in beauty stylist edit too.
