Best tights for tall women

Who do you shop with if you're quite tall? I'm nearly 5ft 9 and have long legs, I used to get a large from m&s but it's too loose at the top, does anywhere cater for tall? I always see snag recommended?

If you've found this page in search of tights that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best tights useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

I'm same height as you OP and I still get M&S large tights. I've also got some nice Falke tights from TK Maxx which fit really well. And DIM tights that I picked up in France. I recommend checking the tights section in TK Maxx if you have one nearby. Some of the upmarket brands like Wolford and Falke seem to fit well.

Hi, I'm 5 11 and get snag tights. So comfortable and they fit well.

Ah i care for my son full time so it needs to be online, I'll check snag

Snags all the way. I'm 6ft and they're the only tights I wear now.

DeePlume · 18/09/2022 13:19

I'm the same height and also long legged and recommend snag tights

BigEnergy · 18/09/2022 13:26

I don't know if they still do them but I used to get mine from LTS. Almost 6ft and they were perfect!

ChiaraMontague · 18/09/2022 13:32

Heist Studios and Wolford

Pattygonia · 18/09/2022 18:33

This only works if you're wearing tall boots (or at least mid calf) but I'm almost 6ft and find wearing footless tights and socks is so much comfier than tights

youarntaguest · 18/09/2022 18:36

Boots do tall

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 18/09/2022 19:00

Another one for snag.

littlematchstickgirl · 18/09/2022 20:55

I have 34" legs and get XL from primark (I'm a reasonably slim 5'8" and size 12-14). They fit well, are long enough but not too big.

Shopgirl1 · 18/09/2022 21:27

Maybe there are different types in M&S, I’m 6ft and size 10 in bottoms and find theirs good.

RonRonRonWeasley · 18/09/2022 21:37

Snag tights are really comfortable and they last ages. There’s a chart on the website to find your size and they do tights in different lengths.

PiffleWiffleWoozle · 18/09/2022 21:55

snag all the way now - another 6fter here.

nice to have a range of colours etc that actually fit too.

Shopgirl1 · 19/09/2022 05:09

I’ve just realised all my M&S tights are pre Covid. I hope they haven’t changed them!

WhereAreWeNow · 19/09/2022 09:00

I've been looking at Snag size charts and I'm hopelessly confused. I don't know if I'm curvy or athletic by their definition. It looks like a short woman could wear the same size as a tall woman so I don't get how the sizing is any better than the M&S tights. I'm also put off by the postage costs and the Facebook ads which have a strong fetish vibe 😳

Ladyofthelake53 · 19/09/2022 09:02

I'm 6ft I get mine from an Ebay seller that sells hosiery for transgender people, they fit just right extra length. Normal tights come up to my crotch unless I buy xxxl which are then way too loose

Ladyofthelake53 · 19/09/2022 09:04

I get stockings and hold ups from there too as they are always too short like just over my knees

DrNo007 · 19/09/2022 09:07

Wolford.

FreddieStandensBFF · 19/09/2022 09:18

5’10” Snag (and or footless)

PaulineBrady · 20/09/2022 22:35

Snag are great for opaques. If you are looking for more sheer tights then John Lewis own brand are great for fit and comfort, wear well too.

Susan198233 · 15/04/2023 22:55

Thank you all for the snag recommendation - I will try those. Can I jump on here (if it's allowed) to also ask where you lovely tall ladies get your long tops/tunic dresses from? I mean the kind of thing you can wear casually over leggings eg a long t-shirt/short sleeved comfy cotton dress in summer. I like to wear this style but the problem is almost any I find only just cover my bum as I am tall and I feel it looks and feels too short and I would like a bit more coverage to at least mid thigh. Does anyone else have this problem?! Any suggestions? Thank you!
