What's the new Boden?

I agree with the other thread about Boden stuff having gone downhill recently and looking very disappointingly tatty when it arrives. So what's the alternative? Is there another good quality, not mega-expensive mail order catalogue?

I've been coveting the clothes at Chin Choi - www.chinchoi.co.uk all the time I've been pg.. I was going to wait until I'd lost a bit more baby weight before ordering, but I've just seen they're on sale, so I'm going for it.. Hoorah! No idea what the clothes are like in real life but I'll report back..

Meant to say thanks Spockster for the WofN link - haven't received anything yet, but ordered a whole load of stuff a couple of nights ago. Couldn't believe the £5 a throw shoes, coats, etc. Amazing. I notice the site's down now, not sure if it'll be back up again.

Glad it's not just me who was not impressed with boden adult clothes. Have bought the DCs lots of bits there but got myself an 'everyday polo neck jumper' there last year and it was one of the most unflattering items I have ever tried on. Size 8-10 at the time (wasn't pg then) and it just looked awful. clung in a horrible way and made me look busty (in a bad way) and frumpy. Nearly cried when I saw it on!

My pleasure! I hope it's nice; the WofN quality is certainly good. I couldn't belive it last year when I ordered a 70 quid skirt from Boden and it wasn't even lined!
I do still have a small Boden habit I can't quite shake off, though, but I agree the kids' stuff is better.
Nice chinchoi link! But everything's black and grey, and after 2 pregnancies I have had my fill of a totally black capsule wardrobe.

I know what you mean about a Boden habit Spockster, I am finding hard to kick it myself. I know the quality won't be worth the money, but I still can't stop myself flicking through the catalogue dreamily...

Love the chinchoi stuff. Now that I really will get addicted to...

I received my order, finally!

Have to say, on the whole, I'm very pleasantly surprised!

The sandals were a little on the small side, but not at all unwearable!

The dress was perfect in style, quality and fitting - I do have an odd shaped body, though, I must admit.

Yes siree, I certainly got the Boden bug now!

Anyone have the crinkle summer dress, by any chance?

taliac · 27/01/2008 20:19

Got my Chin Choi order yesterday. I have to say, pretty good. A bit depressing because it all looked a bit on the large side, until I tried it on and found it fit really well. So I'm obviously a bit bigger than I think I am! But the shirts are lovely, esp the crinkle shirt, and the knitwear is nicely shaped and soft. Not too keen on the trousers but DH likes them on me so maybe I'll keep them. Great quality so worth the price (well at least the sale price!)

Spockster · 27/01/2008 20:43

Yes I got the crinkle dress; came in a bag. Nice fit; I hope I still like it come the summer...a good incentive not to put on any weight.
