I generally pack a day outfit and dressier evening outfit per day of holiday. How about you?

3 outfits for a week. Often including the one I’m wearing. I don’t own as many clothes as you do, for any season!

LionessesRules · 19/08/2022 21:50

Less than 1!
Bottoms can be reworn.
Clean top for the evening, downgraded to day wear the next day.

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 19/08/2022 21:52

I take a dress for each night but day clothes are just shorts, sarongs, little cover ups, I wouldn't allocate a unique one per day.

hugoagogo · 19/08/2022 22:00

I do like you say, day outfit + night outfit. However I would take less in colder weather as things are more likely to be reworn. People who like beach holidays, probably need less.

yonce · 19/08/2022 22:02

Two per day at least, maybe an extra for every other day just incase of changes of plans.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 19/08/2022 22:05

Depends on the type of holiday and travelling companions ie sticky toddlers. Beach holiday with no toddlers, 3 or 4 bikinis, 1 day dress for every 3 days, 5 evening dresses.

yomellamoHelly · 19/08/2022 22:12

Day is a swimming cossie. I take a couple. Evening a dress. One per week will do. Handful of underwear (wash if run out / necessary). Trousers / shirt / cardie for flight. (Find air con cold.) Hotel provide towels.

maddiemookins16mum · 19/08/2022 22:16

Me on a 14 night holiday
plenty of underwear
4 pairs shorts
2 pairs of 3/4 length trousers
2 swimsuits
7 daytime sun vests/t shirts
4 evening outfits.
a outfit for travelling home in.
I tend to handwash a few tops worn the first week to wear the 2nd week.

PuttingDownRoots · 19/08/2022 22:16

Outfit for day.
Depending on plans, 2-3 evening outfits, or stuff that can be worn as evening wear followed by day wear next day
Extra pairs of pants.... can't be doing with washing on holiday unless absolutely necessary

wendywoopywoo222 · 19/08/2022 22:17

If it's a hot holiday for a week I pack
Swimming costume
7 pairs of knickers
A bra
7 t shirts
3 dresses
3 pairs of shorts
One cardigan.

Beach bag
Sandals
Wash bag.

PinkPlantCase · 19/08/2022 22:19

Less than 1 per day 😂

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 19/08/2022 22:19

Wow I feel dowdy! I usually pack 2 swimwear and 3 changes of clothes for a fortnight, wash them in the shower or a launderette if one around, and one set usually ends up being unworn as I’m not comfortable in it in the heat/cold/doesn’t look right with my shoes etc.

Wowitshot · 19/08/2022 22:21

Currently on holiday for a week. Have two shorts, one Capri pants, one pair jeans, five tops, two dresses, one jumper, one cardigan. Currently wish I had more shorts and fewer trousers as the forecast was worse than it actually is . Not sure I will need two dresses either!

chipsandpeas · 19/08/2022 22:24

during the day on a beach holiday im taking
2 bikinis and 2 playsuits - playsuits arent going to be on a lot so will be reworn a few times
for at night
1 maxi dress
1 shorts
1 linen trousers
2 tops

again will be reworn a few times

ive learned over the years i dont need a different outfit every night - i was a serious overpacker and now got it a lot better

gogohmm · 19/08/2022 22:24

Depends on the holiday, took 20 or so on my recent cruise but on the motorbike it has to fit into the pannier!

should say thats for 1 week holiday if going for 2 weeks id take a couple of more tops and another maxi dress

DogsAndGin · 19/08/2022 22:29

Same as you, plus bikinis and comfies.

Hotandbothereds · 19/08/2022 22:36

I can’t be bothered doing laundry on holiday, and I never find the need because my luggage is never over weight anyway, what’s the point?

For a warm beach/pool type holiday for a week I’d take…

Couple of swimming costumes
2/3 casual dresses/beach cover ups
7 evening outfits - usually dresses
Couple of casual daytime outfits - more tops than bottoms
Plenty of underwear
Outfit to travel home in

If I was away 10/14 days I’d take more evening/casual daytime outfits.

If I’ve got the luggage allowance I don’t see what the problem is with taking a few more options? You don’t save anything by taking fewer things in your luggage?

StarlightLady · 20/08/2022 05:41

Depends on destination and weather. If flying, cabin bag! Then while others are waiting at the conveyor or in a queue to report lost luggage l am out of the airport and away.

Say, for 2 weeks.

3/4 dresses
1 fleece or cardigan
2/3 tops
1 skirt
4 bras
8 pairs of knix
1 bikini top
2 bikini bottoms

I mainly live in the dresses, as l do at home. I travel in jeans, jacket and a top. I take things that wash through easily, I don’t want to come home to piles of dirty washing either.

l also travel a lot for work when l take similar but more formal. Either way, less is more!

It’s also easier to carry as I don’t have a butler to carry it for me.

I just take my usual clothes plus shorts/shirt skirts or a few summer dresses. I've traveled 6 weeks around South East Asia with a 7 kg carry on. I've definitely learnt the art of traveling light. I do not ever wear maxi dresses, if its not worn in my normal life I'm not likely to wear it on holiday either. I always get my clothes washed too. Max footwear trainers plus sandals.

How big is your suitcase?!

You know you can wear "outfits" more then once right? And if you take tops and bottoms you can Mia them up a bit.

For a two week summer beach holiday I would take 3/4 pairs of shorts, 7/8 t shirts/tops to wear with them, and maybe 2/3 evening combos.

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 20/08/2022 09:07

We’re off to Crete for a fortnight in a few weeks. What I’m planning to take are:

3 or 4 dresses which can do for day trips or evenings
1 pair of navy linen trousers
1 pair of black linen trousers
1 pair of navy knee-length shorts
2 white linen tops/blouses
2 blue and white tops/blouses
1 swimsuit
A sarong which will do as a beach towel and a cover-up
1 cardi for cool nights, worn on the flight
A few pairs of knickers
1 pair of comfy walking-shoes, worn on the flight
1 pair of Greek sandals

We’re renting a house so things can be laundered if necessary. I doubt I will need to, apart from the undies

We got 23kg each with jet2 last week, and took virtually a day and night outfit per day for a week, and my case was under weight.
