Can someone recommend a very basic face cream for my very sensitive skin

Not sure what has happened to the skin on my face recently but it has so much hyperpigmentation and a real redness to it (although not sore).
I do have sensitive skin and I think that combined with being in peri (I’m 49) and perhaps things like Hyaluronic acid in my current creams are exacerbating the redness (no idea what is causing the hyperpigmentation as I have never been a sun worshipper!).
I need to go to basics and start using a very gentle day and night cream with basic ingredients.
Can anyone recommend any good ones? I use cruelty free products.

Rosehip oil

I have sensitive skin. I've been using The Inkey List Omega Water cream for a while now and I love it. Light but hydrating, fragrance free.

I guess you just have to keep trying things as everyone is sensitive in different ways, quite a few of the things that have worked for people on this thread have been no use for me. Particularly rosehip oil which gave me huge, spectacular hives.

I use Nip+Fab glycolic pads on my face in the morning, followed by Nip+Fab Dragon's Blood serum. Then I use either National for Men spf moisturiser (I can't get it anymore but I'm still looking and using the last of what I have) or Le Roche Posey Hyalu B5 spf 30. At night I use Aldi caviar night and Gallinee contour eye cream. Sometimes I use a Konjac sponge at night before applying cream. I also use Gallinee soap or Avoca soap instead of shower gel.

Cerave is lovely but after a few days I start to break out. After a lot of experimentation The Ordinary natural moisturising factors is the best I've found for being moisturising without causing my sensitive skin to flare up. Anything with coconut oil is especially awful and gives me deep cystic spots.

That should be *Epaderm not Roadwork 😂

Isn't it quite Vaseline-like?

Aveeno. It isn't specifically a face cream but it's the best thing I've come across for my sensitive skin and I use nothing else but this now

I do use a factor 50 with it though. I use Hello Sunday The One That's Got It All

I’d also recommend Roche posay, avene or cerave. Cetaphil gentle cleansing wash saved my life and avene skin recovery cream. Best of luck op!!
