I use protein twice a week on it
Does it need more protein treatments or moisturising conditioner?
Help
It's so brittle

Definitely moisture
Get some silk or satin bobbles for tying it back
Satin or silk pillowcase
I use loads of protein on my hair (twice a week) but it's curly and needs it so I think you've probably overdone it

Does anyone have any experience with this product ?
I'm assuming it's protein free

Have you been out in the sun much? I used a protein shampoo and conditioner on holiday at Easter, thought i was doing a good thing treating my hair well, turns out 1. i shouldn't have used it so often and 2. should limit sun exposure while using due to the acids in it, i've now got a lot of broken patches and sensitive scalp.
No fix, i have to keep having it trimmed now, have switched from bleach to a high lift tint and am using a shampoo and conditioner with biotin. Good luck OP

Oh and yes to the silk pillowcase, i have so much less breakage since getting one.

All hair is dead by the way.

PeloAddict · 09/08/2022 11:16

@boyff I believe it is but coconut can mimic protein
Osmo hair mask is good (Amazon)

I have full-head white bleach and have done for four years.

You need a deep conditioning mask: I use Reincarnation by Bleach London once or twice a week.
For washing: Kerastase Chroma Absolu shampoo and conditioner is amazing, but you also can't beat good-old Aussie!
Leave-in treatment: I use Olaplex No 7.

FWIW I wash my hair every day (I know, I know!), but have no breakage. Before I switched up my products my hair was like yours. The ones I listed are quite pricey but you don't need much, and the Chroma Absolu shampoo just a pea-sized amount and add more water to lather it.

Get a good cut (as short as you're happy going) and start from scratch - it'll look lovely, I'm certain! If you're having bleach/toner, see if they can add Olaplex to it. This costs an additional £10 at the salon I go to but it makes the world of difference!

Are you noticeably underweight at all?

My wife is a twin. She uses the absolute bare minimum of hair products - no allegiance to any particular shampoo or conditioner - whatever is reasonably prices and that's it - has never dyed or coloured her hair - no chemicals ever - just has it cut regularly. Her sister spends a fortune on expensive cosmetics, make-up, has her hair dyed to hide the grey and highlights etc - she looks trendier sometimes but she definitely doesn't have the best looking hair IMHO.

It needs a cut to get rid of the split ends and your hairdresser can treat your hair to put moisture back into your hair. I am guessing you are over processing it with bleach and using straighteners. If you use straighteners a lot, you must use heat resistant products before straightening it.

Sims400 · 10/08/2022 14:59

Aussie is shit, it might as well be liquid plastic on your hair, and will eventually block moisture

Andromachehadabadday · 10/08/2022 20:09

You need to read up on what protein can be listed as and check every product.o would rely on strangers promising it does or doesn’t have protein in.

and I wouldn’t be going back to a hair dresser who told you that a protein mask twice a week and/or overnight was a ok to do. That’s pretty basic knowledge that she doesn’t have

NeverDropYourMooncup · 10/08/2022 20:14

It looks as though you're going to need a chin length cut, really. It'll make a huge difference to the condition, evenness of colour and how you feel, as that's not coming back from the bleaching.
