How would you dress me?

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/07/2022 07:22

I'm a jeggings and t-shirt kind of woman. Occasionally a maxi dress.
I'm 30, have 3 kids, disabled so needs to be easy to get on and off.
I'm a size 20 at 5 foot 6, so quite round. Large breasts, VERY large bottom.
I'm sick of always being in the same stuff.
So how would you dress me if you could pick anything at all? Pic of me then you can see what colours would suit me etc.
Just want some ideas for when I go shopping for my birthday in August.

How would you dress me?

Initially I wouldn't go too far from your comfort zone, so if you normally wear jeggings and t-shirt then I'd swap the t-shirt for a nice top and buy some really good quality well-fitting jeggings. Or a good top with some cargo pants maybe.
You have beautiful skin and eyes by the way.

Imtoooldforallthis · 08/07/2022 08:12

For a slight change how about some straight leg trousers and vest tops, I'm smaller than you, but also shorter so similar shape I would think, I where wide leg trousers with fitted vest tops. M and s do some wide leg joggers. In this heat I woukd wear some thinner trousers and a strapless boob tube from matalan. I also where denim and chino shorts a lot, and not too long. Also dresses, but they must fit across the bust, ideally empire line. I'll find some links.

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/07/2022 08:22

Thank you both. I love those palm print trousers.
Nice tops is a good idea, I usually wear mens tops but I have a couple that I wear for going out which I think I can use during the day too

If it’s any help my cousin has those palm print trousers and she’s a wheelchair user so needs clothes that are easy to get on and off and that are comfortable.
She wears them with short sleeved tops, not t-shirts, so for going out something like this in black or a green from the palm print. Or she will wear a vest top but with a shirt layered over and unbuttoned, with jeggings. I think losing the men’s tops would instantly make a difference.

RockStarMartini · 08/07/2022 10:59

You're very pretty! I'm a bit shorter and also quite round so watching with interest.

Agree that men's tops will be doing you no favours. It's hard not to just settle for what's comfy but something fitted (not tight) will generally be more flattering.

I really love jump-suits as they tend to go in at the waist which suits me and I feel like I'm wearing my pyjamas - but hopefully dont look it!

Heroicallyl0st · 08/07/2022 11:07

Something that accentuates your stunning face!

I think you have one of those rare colourings that genuinely suits back (not many do)

I would have suggested maxi dresses for your shape, but what about deep jewel colours - fuschia, purple, burgundy?

Some pattern might make you feel more comfortable - I’m around a 12 but curvy and big chest, so like to go for patterned, quality fabric to cover VPL, bra straps. Good fitting supportive underwear is everything!

And sometimes it’s not so much about the clothes, but the little details - groomed hair, nails, natural makeup but you have beautiful eyes to accentuate, so lots of mascara.

Heroicallyl0st · 08/07/2022 11:08

supposed to say ‘genuinely suits black’

Heroicallyl0st · 08/07/2022 11:11

Perhaps dangly earrings to bring attention to your face - if you make a circle with your thumb and middle finger, that kind of size/shape perhaps.

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/07/2022 11:27

Aww thank you Blush
I feel ugly and frumpy, hence my wish to change. I have never really found my style if you know what I mean.

You're 30!? 😳
I thought you were early 20s.

Wow! Your skin is something to behold.

Belephant · 08/07/2022 11:44

I came to say the same as @Ameanstreakamilewide - you have amazing skin!! And you're very pretty. I'm jealous!

You have beautiful eyes and skin. I’m a similar size to you and find maxi or midi dresses comfortable and really wearable in the heat. If you’re afflicted by chub rub (I am), then Snag Chub Rub shorts are a game changer.
I wear my dresses with a denim jacket.

Colourwise, you’d look great in deep colours - greens, navy, fuscia, chocolate brown etc.

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/07/2022 11:50

I've been meaning to get some decent chub rub shorts. Good to hear snag are good, I've been a bit dubious as things can often seem too good to be true!

knackeredagain · 08/07/2022 11:50

Sorry, I read birthday as holiday, but I’d still get some dresses and a denim jacket or biker jacket.
I wear mine with Adidas or Doc Martens.

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/07/2022 11:51

My DD keeps telling me to get a denim jacket then we can match 😂 she has a little denim jacket and looks adorable in it.

OP posts:
knackeredagain · 08/07/2022 11:53

Do it! You’ll look so cute together 😻

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 08/07/2022 11:54

Here's a few other options:

You could easily dress any of the skirts up and down and also the linen loose white blouse you could do with a darker or printed skirt, I think a mix of maxi dresses and skirts would be great as well as jogger trousers. Only reason I suggest skirts/joggers is you can then mix and match with separates.

These dresses are good - not too flouncy and the V neck will show off your boobs while the rest skims any lumps and bumps.

knackeredagain · 08/07/2022 12:01

If you go for a denim jacket I’d go for a more indigo colour rather than a light one, to flatter your colouring. A biker jacket would look good on you too.

Happy shopping! I got some tips from a stylist recently because I felt just the same. I’m slightly different colouring to you but the confidence of having nice clothes I feel good in has knocked lbs off me (not literally, sadly)

Dodolovesme · 08/07/2022 12:30

I came here to say jewel tones too!
you'd look fab in burgundy or teal I reckon.
What about dresses? I love stretchy jersey ones. Or monsoon or joe brown have some nice ones atm. A dress with a leather or denim jacket over maybe?
You look like you'd suit Docs too? Although that's a bit wintery lol
