How would you dress me?

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/07/2022 07:22

I'm a jeggings and t-shirt kind of woman. Occasionally a maxi dress.
I'm 30, have 3 kids, disabled so needs to be easy to get on and off.
I'm a size 20 at 5 foot 6, so quite round. Large breasts, VERY large bottom.
I'm sick of always being in the same stuff.
So how would you dress me if you could pick anything at all? Pic of me then you can see what colours would suit me etc.
Just want some ideas for when I go shopping for my birthday in August.

How would you dress me?

Get yourself to John Lewis.
Personal shopper.

They don't work on commission so aren't pushy AT all. You fill in an online form and they will do the rest for you

If you want a denim jacket look at the Ruth Langsford ones on Qvc, a really nice fit with plenty of stretch.

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/07/2022 13:42

Thank you so much everyone. I didn't even realise John Lewis did a personal shopper. That's awesome.

House of Fraser also offer a personal shopper.

Take a look at some of JL's choices here (re price and style) before you decide on them:

Just thought I'd update and thank you all again

I bought palm print trousers. Not the exact ones from earlier in the thread but still lovely.

I've paired them with a t-shirt I already had. My kids told me I look like a beautiful jungle explorer haha.

And the best bit is that the trousers are wide legged so they fit nicely over my catheter and are easy to pull up and empty the catheter that way. (I was in hospital, long story short I can't feel a thing down below and my bladder was storing too much urine as I didn't feel the urge to go, so now I have a catheter. I'm hoping it's only temporary, but only the neurosurgeon can shed some light on that)

Those trousers are lovely and really suit you!

You are very pretty 😊
So pleased you have something new you feel great in.

Oblomov22 · 12/07/2022 17:10

Can you take another couple of pictures ? Are you able to stand? So that we can see your shape. And sat down so we can see. Are you an hourglass/apple/pear? What colours do you like? Do you like patterns.

Are used to go to the free fittings at Debenhams, but now go to John Lewis, like a pp suggested. They also do an online one now so you can do it from the comfort of your own home Rather than going into store.

Band/slogan tees and cool stuff from Little Lies dot come

HerRoyalHappiness · 12/07/2022 18:07

Unfortunately I can't stand for long enough to get one of the kids to take a picture of me. I used to have an hourglass shape but it's hidden under layers of fat and now I'm just a circle. Grin

Sounds like you've had a rough time of it health wise, even more reason to buy yourself something nice, you deserve to look and feel good.

HerRoyalHappiness · 13/07/2022 08:13

I have a haul of clothes coming today. Some gorgeous patterned trousers and some beautiful tops. My mum paid for them for me as a treat to cheer me up after my rough times lately.

Your skin is incredible!

HerRoyalHappiness · 13/07/2022 08:36

Thank you. It's not so incredible today. I've broken out in stress spots. So I have spot stickers all over my chin Grin

Thank you all again
I've really taken to patterned trousers thanks to this thread. This is today's outfit

Hi there, have you considered which colours you look best in. Try a colour quiz: www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk/find-your-colours/the-quiz-intro-page

HerRoyalHappiness · 13/07/2022 20:30

Thanks @Wynona I'll check it out

I think that these would suit you....

This is a pretty dress:

www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1029539005.html

I think this is a good look, but not sure if it would be easy to get the trousers on or off!
www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0983947008.html

Very summery:

Lots of buttons, but a nice dress:

Sorry! Missed the post about your catheter, so the tight jeans ensemble probably wouldn't work. The dresses probably would though.

HerRoyalHappiness · 13/07/2022 22:48

The dresses absolutely would work. I need to buy some dresses. They'll be much easy for dealing with the catheter and they'll keep me cool in the heat.
