What are your must have clothes?

Have you looked at Pour Moi? They were highly recommended for swim wear on another thread. I ordered some lovely swim stuff from them (and usually I hate trying on swimwear) and I see they have a whole range of holiday clothes that I think look good

I think Laura from bake-off has beach clothes, you might need to scroll back a bit as she posts a lot

bloodyunicorns · 04/07/2022 19:01

Yours: they have some great beach dresses, culottes and flattering wide-leg cropped trousers. I've also bought high-waisted bikini bottoms there. Some flip-flops, wedges, shades and statement jewellery, and you're sorted!

bloodyunicorns · 04/07/2022 19:02

Asda has some lovely things this summer too - I bought shorts, PJs and two dresses there!!

Workyticket · 04/07/2022 19:50

Didn't realise Pour Moi did clothes! I've got a couple.of cossies in my basket so will browse there too

Quite like these Shorts

I got a really plain trapeze style dress with thin straps from Tesco. Think they had a couple of colours.

I thought it would be perfect for chucking over a swimsuit at the beach/pool.

Have you looked at Yours? We have a shop in town and I've also looked online.

They do lovely loose shirts in all styles and great bold colours and their shorts and dresses have a lovely shape and fit to them.

I bought a dress from tesco this week but the straps are in the wrong place for my bra straps- I'll look again when I take it back 😀

I have - everything is so looooooong! I looked for vests but they'd practically all be knee length on me! Will look again online though 😀

You could always wear the vests as vest dresses over your fabulous Cossie you're going to buy? 🤷‍♀️🤣

I'm 5"7 and I like it because their styles actually have length. Forgot if you aren't tall like me it probably isn't so great!

I went shopping yesterday and bought some culottes and necklaces in Yours and a couple of tops reduced in Primark. I’ve got home and played mix and match and now have lots more summer outfits so I’m happy. I needed the necklaces and have been looking everywhere for the sort I wanted. I’ve never been in a Yours shop before, the summer colours in there are lovely.

Afterfire · 05/07/2022 08:25

I’m a size 18/20 and almost all my summery stuff comes from Yours as it’s mostly all comfortable jersey / viscose type fabric which I love. They do tons of nice wide leg trousers and shorts and lots of colourful dresses. I really love their clothes.

When it’s not so hot I buy things from Asos curve but I find a lot of their fabric scratchy and less comfy.

FinallyHere · 05/07/2022 11:10

I struggle to find lovely clothes that fit. Once I find something, I buy multiple copies of it. Ring the changes with scarves / necklaces. No one really notices that you wear the same colour top / dress etc every day. Even if they did, who cares so long as you love it.

Another trick hat works for me is to find a laundrette to wash and dry the clothes so ten days worth of clothes easily lasts for a three week holiday.

Another visit and your case is full of clean rather than dirty clothes when you finally get home.

Workyticket · 05/07/2022 19:33

@FinallyHere I always buy multiples of the same thing too 😳 - it's just such a long time since I've bought summer things!

I think not being happy with my size is hindering the shopping too 😔

@Workyticket I'm the same, it's not the clothes I'm unhappy with, it's how I look in them. I'm try to learn to give less of a damn and wearing stuff that makes me happy. Slowly getting there. Just need to stop buying dark colours 🙈

Workyticket · 05/07/2022 23:42

Well - I've ordered a load of random bits and spent £££

Mainly on swimmers where I've ordered multiple sizes

Ordered a couple of dresses from amazon of all places after a recommendation from a work friend today!

I’ve picked up a couple of nice summer dresses in Morrisons.

easyday · 07/07/2022 09:26

Kimono cover ups are nice - you can wear it over a sleeveless dress and still feel cool when walking about and it works over a swimsuit too.

I've had success with Tesco dresses, shorts from Evans and debenhams

No success with cossies. All getting posted back 2m and I've ordered more. Will need to leg it to Bravissimo at the weekend if I don't have any luck

I had a load of stuff in my real life trolley in asda yesterday but they don't have changing rooms and it's a mega bus ride back to exchange things so I put everything back 😭
