Just saw the attached photo of MM at the polo - I love her outfit! Casual but the mixed denim is really chic and I like the structure of the shorts with the looseness of the shirt.

Two tones of the same colour seems to be a bit of a thing for her - couple more photos attached. Has anyone else noticed other style motifs with what she wears?

Her style reminds me a bit of Jennifer Anniston. That kind of relaxed Ralph Lauren Californian look.

I agree with this, it is a very unfussy and grown up style, I love it. I also love her taste in jewellery, she usually favours small, understated necklaces and earrings which means her looks are the star of the show, not her clothes and accessories.

DrPayne · 25/06/2022 17:09

I don't think the shorts look good but I like her petrol green leather pencil skirt and wrap.
I think like most of us tailoring gives the best fit and she certainly can afford adjusting her clothes. I don't remember ever seeing her in florals.

mathanxiety · 25/06/2022 17:29

It's a very polished and confident look, very reminiscent of Carolyn Kennedy, also a very American look - no florals or chintzy looks, clean lines, embellishments are understated, and the clothes frame her. She is wearing the clothes, not the other way round.

hopeishere · 25/06/2022 17:29

She does wear them but not loads.

Yes, and those two examples were really not 'her' if you know what I mean - I thought they weren't her style at all. I guess she was going for 'English summer wedding' in the blue number, and I can't remember where she wore the white/cream one.

Yiayoula · 25/06/2022 17:42

I loved this outfit, too, and the ponytail.
A perfect example of less is more .
I agree she looks her best in casual wear , or tailored separates .
The formal outfits , with the exception of that stunning red dress, don’t seem to fit properly somehow .

If, Lord help us all, I had ever married into the Windsors, Meghan Markle would have been my style guide. To me she always looks appropriate, unfussy and elegant. I keep hearing how she wears badly fitting clothes but have never noticed it.

buttonstep · 25/06/2022 17:45

She's so beautiful. She dresses so well. Exquisite. I really don't like the dangly hair she mostly has at the front when she wears her hair up but when it's smoothed into her hairstyle she is literally perfect.

autocollantes · 25/06/2022 17:50

The white floral shirred bodice was worn to a home for retired actors I believe.

She has a similar figure to me in my thin days. The short torso with undefined waist never looks good with things that sit around the waist. No waist or empire line are better. The two shade thing is a way to wear something with a waist (skirt rather than dress for example) without overly drawing attention to the waist. And it works.

She loves coats with belts though and I don't believe they show her figure off to the best. Maybe I have some strange bias because I think I look bad in them! But things that draw attention to the waist never look as good as they do on someone with a defined waist. Nothing really to do with being thin. It's about curves (hence why "plus size" models usually have very defined waists and aren't apple shapes). These belted coats seem to come out for formal RF events - guess less need for them in LA!

Anyway now I look at her figure and think I might be able to pull off a cheaper version of what she wears if only I stopped snacking. But it hasn't happened yet! 😂

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 25/06/2022 17:59

Ah, I think she is absolutely beautiful.

Her clothes are fab, but it's the way she carries herself that makes her outfits sing.

Her and Harry in that rain photo 💙

darlingdodo · 25/06/2022 18:18

She nails it with the plain colours and unfussy outfits - she's so petite anything with flounces and frills would drown her. Agree with PPS that the boat neckline is very flattering and she looks great in casual wear.

LadyEloise1 · 25/06/2022 19:00

@Yiayoula
That photo of Meghan snd Harry under the umbrella is iconic.
Just beautiful.

AmberLynn1536 · 25/06/2022 19:14

I love her in this Oscar De La Renta dress

This dress she wore to the polo defines her waist and it's got pockets

I love that photo. It is (to me) iconic

That Stella McCartney wedding dress was amazing. She looks great in those leather skirts, the blue Victoria Beckham in the umbrella pic, and a couple of times I’ve seen her in just a short sleeved sweater with a skirt and thought how good she looked. There was a blue one with a pleated skirt and she looked fantastic in it. The belted coats and trench dresses are unflattering on her in comparison and there have been a number of utter monstrosities such as that voluminous blue horror pictured up thread and the beige Dior gown she wore in Morocco. Some of her clothes don’t fit well, sometimes they’d fit better if she wore appropriate underwear (grey Roland Mouret) and I’m personally not a fan of the off the shoulder look at daytime formal occasions but I envy her ankles and she wears great shoes.

valleyofadventure · 25/06/2022 19:56

She's very beautiful and dresses elegantly and stylishly, but I agree with the waist comments. She's got a lovely figure and is super-slim obviously, but the belted coats she's drawn to are really unflattering, I think - they make her look thick-waisted, or as if she's got a big jumper on underneath.

Even that mulberry colour pencil skirt with the sweater tucked in - similar effect. The green outfit is better because the shirt isn't as heavy.

styleness · 25/06/2022 20:01

In the mulberry outfit she's recently had a baby, so is not her usual shape. I think she really embraced having a slightly bigger postpartum figure and it made me feel good to see someone so beautiful who hadn't 'bounced back' immediately.

I think she has great style, relaxed but casual.

I adore that dress on her. Gorgeous. But I think she was overdressed for the event.

gjatage · 25/06/2022 20:04

relaxed but smart! her hair looks casual although probably takes ages to look effortless.

gjatage · 25/06/2022 20:05

i loved that formal green dress she wore

gjatage · 25/06/2022 20:06

She has a thick waist is it thick though? I'm sure it's tiny in every life she just has even tinier legs.

ChinBristles · 25/06/2022 20:08

She has an odd habit of wearing clothes in the wrong season.
She wore a flowery summer dress to a winter event and then series of cashmere coats in the height of summer last year.

gjatage · 25/06/2022 20:12

i loved this
