Please talk me out of buying these Birkenstocks...

Idly browsing the website, looking for a new pair, spied these and want want want them. I don't like the boring browns/stones/khaki colours.

I am 38, boring as fuck, and wear 'safe options' like leggings/jeans/t-shirt. But I love these!!!

These are going to make me look like a twat or a ridiculous oversized toddler, right???

Sorry, OP, but I think they're really nice and a good way to start introducing a bit of colour/wackiness to your wardrobe!

With blue jeans and a white t-shirt i think they'd look nice.

Who cares what anyone else thinks? Buy them.

They won't be to everyone's tastes, but who cares? If you love them, get them!

I am going to be the least help. Birkenstocks are ugly. I hate them. But they are so blinking pretty.

They’re a bit Cath Kidston for me. Arizonas are fab though and so comfy, a great investment. Definitely get them if you love them.

@FetchezLaVache you are right, first snazzy Birkenstocks, who knows what will come next... nothing actually, will stick to my uniform of jeans and tees, put on a bit of weight recently and feel a bit self conscious about it, so don't want to draw attention to it

But shoes are a different matter, right?

Not to my taste (twee) but I would second buying a high street dupe - they're not classic enough to warrant the price tag. Get something cheaper in case you get bored of them. What sort of statement do you think they'll make given most people thought they were not that shocking?!

Yep you are right. Life is too short to worry about what you all have confirmed are perfectly ok sandals.

The thing about buying cheap copies is they don't have the same footbed as genuine Birkenstocks.
