Idly browsing the website, looking for a new pair, spied these and want want want them. I don't like the boring browns/stones/khaki colours.

I am 38, boring as fuck, and wear 'safe options' like leggings/jeans/t-shirt. But I love these!!!

These are going to make me look like a twat or a ridiculous oversized toddler, right???

I always have the Mayaris - current pair are hot pink with a black sparkly sole - and I've had two pairs of floral ones. So it's a YES from me.

I'm 44 and have gold and cream snake skin print Birkenstocks. Honestly, who cares what is on your feet as long as you are comfortable you like them?

TabithaTittlemouse · 20/06/2022 20:59

I love Birkenstocks but I think you have found the one pair that I don’t like!

Emmelina · 20/06/2022 21:10

Arizonas are blissfully comfortable, I wouldn’t think twice :)

AcceptanceNotEsteem · 20/06/2022 21:13

I like them!

I’m a later life convert to fugly shoes and practically live in Birkies half the year. I know they’re hideous, but in my head they’re also a bit cool in a kind of low maintenance, Scandi IDGAF way. And perfect with a jeans & tee wardrobe, OP (although I’ll pretty much roll them out with anything).

Lockdown and big life events have made me look at my younger self with a sense of astonishment - that I so often put up with extreme levels of discomfort in order to wear beautiful shoes. I still have a wardrobe full of them, but I weirdly can’t imagine ever giving enough shits to bother wearing them again. And that’s quite a good feeling, actually.

Be free, be happy, buy your Birkies (and I’d call that design pretty much a neutral, so I don’t think you’re in particularly controversial territory tbh).

I live in my Birkenstocks in the summer and I think these ones are lovely.

I wear them as the food bed supports the arches in my feet. They are just so comfy. I got a pair of Birkenstock slippers in the sale - they have been a game changer for me.

badshoedecision · 20/06/2022 21:23

Thanks all, ordered the pink ones!

Look fine to me and I’m more of a Fitflops fan.

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 20/06/2022 21:24

Birkies are the comfort shoe of dreams! If you can also get them in snazzy colours, the world is a better place! Go for it OP

badshoedecision · 20/06/2022 21:25

Ps sorry to be so disappointing and relatively uncontroversial but even they are a step out of my fuddy duddy comfort zone!

My 3yo has some very, very similar from John Lewis and I'm very envious of her. So I may buy them.

badshoedecision · 20/06/2022 21:26

I was expecting something really wacky. They are nice op, get then if you want.

Am I the only person in the world who finds Birkenstocks unbearably uncomfortable. I can't wear them at all.

Unfortunately I find them uncomfortable too. The problem is the bulge in the insole is right behind the toes, where the prob with my foot is. So it puts more pressure on the area where the prob is. If the bulge was a fe cm back it would be OK.

I quite like these
