Lightweight trousers?

It would be really handy to have some lighter trousers for the summer - just for going out and about but cooler than jeans. But linen trousers are such a trap - they get creased and make me look like the back end of an envelope.

Is there such a thing as a reasonably attractive pair of trousers, machine washable, won't turn into a creased dishrag as soon as you put them on, not hideously unflattering, that won't make me look like my DMIL (who is lovely and neatly dressed, but is eighty three), and wouldn't make you lot shudder?

Or should I just accept that I'm a dumpy woman in my fifties (5'4" M&S size 12) and no pair of casual trousers will ever achieve a S&B compliant look?

I bought them specifically for travelling for business events where I need to be comfortable but also look smart. I'm really impressed with them, will keep an eye on the black coming back into stock and probably buy those too

I love the Hush Monaco trousers. Really lightweight and cool but don’t look too beachy for everyday wear. I’m a chunky 16 and 5’5” and I find them surprisingly flattering with a french tucked t shirt or vest top.
