they're even uglier in person and I think I might keep them...

I was after platform sandals to wear with black trousers that reach the floor.

Height and comfort are important to me, and it seems in this instance they might go above style. I haven't found anything that's at least 3" (around 7cm) height, that also offers this level of comfort. These sandals are seriously comfortable which I am not sure I'll get from other brands' offerings.

I came across them whilst considering the equally ugly Nike platform sandals: www.nike.com/gb/t/icon-classic-sandals-VNCTCn/DH0223-600

I don't know what I am asking for here. Save me from myself? Suggest more palatable options (same comfort and height please)? Opinions?

I quite like both pairs you have originally linked to, possibly prefer the Geox and I can vouch for their quality and comfort!

I like the Geox ones and it will only be the toe you would see.

I’ve been looking at the nikes but don’t like the colour choice. I like the flatform sandal and wide leg jeans look.

I’ve got the Superga espadrille platform trainers which are comfy. I’ve got the Birkenstock Arizona platform sandal but I feel they’re too heavy and I don’t find them that comfy anymore. I used to love birkies but they don’t love my feet anymore 😥

SpikyToad · 05/06/2022 15:27

For the love of god, all I've been trying to say (perhaps very badly) is wear what you like and not at the whim of those on the internet?! OP, you want sandals, just have them, why do you need approval from random mumsnetters!?

20YAYMAKINGNAHE · 05/06/2022 11:23

So what would be? help me out please!!

A big floaty, shapeless dress (I hate them). Any of the progressively worse shoes on this thread deserve to be paired with another monstrosity.

beachcitygirl · 05/06/2022 16:06

@20YAYMAKINGNAHE

Unnecessarily rude. One word answer. Why bother.

JFC having looked at the rest of the links on this thread your Geox ones are waaaaaaybetter than anything else 😂

PegasusReturns · 05/06/2022 18:59

oh I love a shapeless dress the geox sandals would go well Grin

pictish · 05/06/2022 19:06

How much? They look like two scrunches pulled across a flip flop to me. Sorry.

Lavender1974 · 05/06/2022 19:10

When I opened the link they made me smile and I totally think they can be rocked if you wear them with conviction. They are totally on trend and look so comfy (bouncy even 😂).

teawamutu · 05/06/2022 19:23

Go ahead and judge me but I like them. 😁

Yes ! That's exactly what they're like.

lljkk · 05/06/2022 21:03

Not on, OP. I was expecting a proper monstrosity. Like these. Your purchase is merely a slightly unusual.

I have bought these monstruosities...
DwightShrutesgirlfriend · 05/06/2022 22:01

Totally missing the point of your post OP, but I can't get past the state of the model's nail varnish in the Geox advert!

Cruise ship chic.

Here’s the link to DM sandals including ones with a platform sole.

Buy the Russell and Bromley Park Up laceless trainers. I love mine. Do them in a few colours but white are the best.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 19/06/2022 20:46

20YAYMAKINGNAHE · 05/06/2022 11:25

Love them, but not quite the chunky look I'm after.

Damn I was going to suggest these. I've bought them and they're gorgeous. Really comfy.

EndHarrasmentofwomen · 19/06/2022 20:49

Well if I was playing £109 for some sandals I would want the model to be wearing a pair that fits, not have dirty toenails (possibly fungal) and chipped nail varnish 🤮

RunningTiger · 19/06/2022 22:25

I like them both!!
I have a similar pair from Geox and I wore them non-stop last summer - SOooo comfortable.
Dr. Martins do some good wedgey type ones. But personally i think what you have bought are great.

Aside from the chip in the polish they look fine to me?

daisyjgrey · 19/06/2022 23:44

Ooooh I like the Nikes. My daughter would too.

daisyjgrey · 19/06/2022 23:46

Also @SpikyToad she is wearing what she wants, she's one of the only few here who's happily saying "they're ugly and I love them". You've chosen a bit of a moot hill to die on with that.
